My concern about the wifi/sprint towers is not for Data. My concern is getting bounced for hardly ever (never) using VOIP.

Is there any voice cap.. like 3000 or 4000 minutes? Is the 5GB for 3G or for LTE?

Question did you have to connect & or register a Wifi connection to start service?

Edit: Just added what taxes would be here. My total is $22.55. Right now I'm paying $28.20 with AV. So accordingly if I switched I would gain: $5.65 + unlimted data. I would lose: ATT coverage & a better phone. So now for ME, not jumping.
No. I activated and registered the phone first. It was at least a week after I started with RW that I added my home WiFi to the phone

According to their CEO there are no min limits, text or data limits.
I have never had problems with them, my bill every month is 22 and some change because of tax. No matter how much or little I may use. I am very pleased with RW and plan on purchasing the MotoX on the 25 dollar plan, with the 10% Defy discount it will set my price about a dollar fifty up from what I currently pay. Since I do 99% of all data use over WiFi and well over 90% of calls are VoIP, RW fits my use like a glove.

RW stated in a interview that that will not happen. He said that even if you join RW and never use VoIP, they won't boot you.
The first five or six more the I was back with them I used my phone as a work phone. 95% of everything was cell, almost no WiFi, and they never said a word. Just billed me 22 and some change every month and thanked me for being a good customer.

With a device that is lte enable, you may be forced on to VoIP all the time and not have a choice. It may even apply if you not have a data plan.

This is said to be coming on most carriers down the road but I doubt they will be forcing customers in to it as strictly data based phones without having their LTE services up everywhere that talk and text is available. Any provider that did that would be shooting themselves in the foot.
