Is There Third-Party Mobile HotSpot App That Will Work With T-Mobile?

Can anyone recommend a third-party Mobile Hotspot app that will work with T-Mobile service? FYI, my phone is an HTC One S (not rooted - and I know nothing about how to root a phone).

I just signed up (last week) for T-Mobile's Simple Choice monthly service (currently only have 1 line active) and I have the $70 Unlimited Talk/Text/Data plan, so I actually have Unlimited 4G Data access on my phone. I have really been using the built-in Mobile Hotspot feature on the phone a lot every day since getting the service activated 5-6 days ago (because my home TV and Internet are currently disconnected) and I ended up using up the 500MB monthly allotment for the Mobile Hotspot feature with my monthly service. So I am now automatically re-directed to a T-Mobile "upsell" webpage stating that I have used my monthly Mobile Hotspot allotment and telling me that I will need to upgrade to be able to use the Mobile Hotspot service again.

So, I am wondering if there is a third-party Mobile WiFi app that I can use with my HTC One S with my T-Mobile service?

I am likely going to be falling asleep soon, but I will be checking the thread in about 7-8 hours after I wake up, and I would really appreciate some replies!

By the way, if at all reasonably possible, I would like to try to find and use an app that will work without having to root my phone. Because I know nothing about rooting a phone and I am intimidated by the thought of even trying to root my phone.

I don't know of an app that will let you by pass the up sell, but if you belong to a school PTA* or join one you can get 14% off your bill each month. So if you add 2 GB of tethering for $10, your total bill before taxes would be $68.80. The PTA membership cost about $7 to $10 and you don't have to renew it, since T-Mobile doesn't ask for it each year.

    +$50.00 Unlimited Minutes & Text
    +$20.00 Unlimited Data
    +$10.00 500mb + 2.0 GB tethering
    -$11.20 14% discount
    =$68.80 + tax

Hey, sorry for not replying sooner. I wanted to thank you for sharing that PTA discount information with me. I have specifically been looking for an opportunity to qualify for some sort of discount, now that I have T-Mobile service. I work at a major casino here in the Phoenix area, so I was hopeful that they may offer some sort of T-Mobile discount. I haven't been able to find out if they do, through. And a while back, some time last year, I recall a friend, who also works at the same casino, telling me that he gets some sort of discount with his Verizon service; so, I am guessing it's unlikely that they would offer discounts with more than one cell phone service provider.

So, the PTA discount seems like a great opportunity to save some money on my monthly bill. Plus, if it helps out a school, I'm all for it. Right now, I only have 1 line; but I will be adding 2 additional lines to my Simple Choice Plan within the next week, since their PTel service will be expiring. I will likely be adding a 4th and possibly a 5th line some time faily soon, as well. So, a 14% discount will be really nice. Thanks again for telling me about it. I really appreciate it.

By the way, if anyone else wants to know, I seem to have found a way to get Internet service from my phone after the Mobile Hotspt useage was used up. I actually have to connect my phone to my desktop via a USB cable; but it works and the reliability and connection seem to be great. There is a free version of this app that can enable this, but it automatically disconnects you every few minutes, so I ended up paying $8 for the paid version and it's working very nicely for me. $8 very well-spent, in my opinion. I don't know if it would be inappropriate to post what the app I'm using is on here, so if anyone wants to know what I'm using, feel free to PM me.
