    Sad day indeed ...... It was the best PTT Network, period.

    Oh yeah. So, for the models that support off-network DC, how good is this? I considered testing a few, they probably cost less than any walkie talky these days since many people will see them as paperweights and not realize they can do this. But the few I could get my hands onto (to try before I buy) turned out to be one of the oldest phone models (new in box!) that did not support the off-network DC.

    cant these Nextel phone still be used on other carriers if unlock? i know SouthernLINC is the last IDEN carrier in the USA

    Yea but you have to mod the codeplug and flash the entire phone... Not honestly worth it..

    Btw SouthernLINC is running fantastic here... Sprint dropped the ball in Alabama.. Most public safety and gov. Agencies here recently all dropped Sprint completely for SouthernLINC and AT&T..

    i wonder if sprint/SL can DC each other since sprint has a port for IDEN networks?
