Just thought it was interesting. With all the talk of illegal use of tethering being against Verizon's TOS.

There is nothing "illegal" about tethering ("illegal" meaning against criminal law), though it seems to be against each carrier's TOS *(contract law). I've never heard of anyone having problems using third-party apps to tether.

And I use PDAnet+. Seems to be the only thing that works on my unrooted phone.

pdanet and foxfi have been integrated for over a year now. When I open pdanet version 3.5 and choose hotspot, it opens up foxfi. I've had and used pdanet for several years and paid the $20 for full version.

Today, I went to the apps store and saw that they're offering pdanet+, which is a combo of pdanet and foxfi. But, it wasn't clear if I download pdanet+ whether I would also have to pay the $8 upgrade fee. Anyone know?

I had also purchased PDANet years ago. When you download PDANet+, you can use the unlock information you received to unlock PDANet to also unlock PDANet+. You don't need to pay again.

I am in the same boat as you. When you open the PdaNet+ app, there's an option to unlock the full version using the email you used to make the purchase and the last four digits of the serial they sent you. If you don't have the serial number, you can request they send it to your email address through the dev's web site.
