    Question Verizon 4620L Unlocking

    Hi,

I have to say 2 things here.

    1. My questions are really tough for normal guys. Most of the guys, they try to talk all the other things in the world other than the straight answer to my question. I guess HoFo is not for that.
    2. I'm not a sales person, for any Company.

    So here is the deal.

    I got a 4620L Verizon MiFi. ( I know I'm getting a bit technical here )

coupled with a Surecall's CM230W, with a LMR400, amplified by CM700V 70dB, directly connected to the 4620L which in turn is connected to MBR1000 which finishes the WiFi job.

But here, I have a question.

    1. But my requirement is I want 4620L is to be unlocked. I want to use it in other countries. But the device is technically locked to Verizon.

I heard about the website Data card Unlocker. Did anybody used this website???
    https://www.dc-unlocker.com/

    Verizon - USA - Frequencies ( 850 and 1900 MHz in USA )
900, 1800 and 2100 MHz Frquency outside North America)
So, I want to see, if 4620L can be used in Europe or not.

    Any help is highly appreciated.

    Thanks,

The 4620L should already unlocked to use a foreign carrier SIM card.

Not something I can re-confirm for another couple of days, but all 4G devices are supposed to be pre-unlocked for overseas SIMs.

I believe you are correct. The device should already be unlocked

My 4620L was SIM locked to VZW. I wanted to use mine in Canada last summer, but they wouldn't unlock it even though I'd bought it outright. DC-Unlocker was able to unlock it, then VZW released a newer firmware that blocked the unlock and locked the device again. I sold it, and bought an Android handset to put the SIM in (which has been replaced by a VZW LTE iPad).

The following means nothing to you: The "L" model has been replaced by a newer "LE" version that has a bigger battery. One of my friends has it, and VZW wouldn't unlock it either. I don't know why they're being a PITA about it - I called in to unlock two VZW 4S devices for a trip overseas, and it was done in about a minute.

I've given up on VZW MiFi devices and will stick to handsets with mobile hotspot capabilities from now on. Good luck!

Good to know, I have a 4610 and assumed it was unlocked. Would've turned out badly had I needed it😂

    Re: Verizon 4620L Unlocking

    I'm looking at internal resources.

I've got it black-and-whited that any vzw 4g lte device with global roaming capabilities is able to be used with a local sim without any additional steps to unlock the device.

So it's odd that there would be issues.

I think Canada isn't considered international by Verizon for some reason...

Sorry, I realize this post is more than a year old, but the 4620LE is definitely SIM locked.
Verizon's unlocked 4G LTE does not apply to access points, only to phones.
I found out the hard way when I was travelling in Australia last year.
I even called VZW and the rep also told me it was unlocked. Simply not true.
Also, unlike phones, VZW would not unlock the access point.

    4620l

I just unlocked my 4620L last night with dc unlocker. You have to have a clean esn verizon 4620L and a verified paypal account. The amount of credits to buy is 10. Read their tutorial first. I happened to have the firmware that the tutorial specified, but did not have to do a DUU uupgrade. Just installed the 4620Lwin drivers that I got from google.

    And even later still.
I just received over a dozen Verizon Wireless 4620L MiFi JetPack 4G LTE HotSpots.
Each unit does have a clean ESN - hurdle 1 crossed.
Although I own and use a DC-Unlocker dongle, when I connected these devices to unlock them, they all show unlocked.
Will test with AT&T card later today.

I did receive 2 or 3 MiFi 4620L devices which were locked. Unlocked all successfully with dc-unlocker dongle. MiFi 4620L devices work well with T-Mobile & Cricket. Could not get AT&T SIM to work. It might have been my location.

ralowiczlive, I have unlocked my MiFi 4620L with the dc-unlocker software and it indicates that it is in fact unlocked... what is the next step to get my newly activated T-Mobile SIM working?

well, i partially figured it out... I edited the APN values under network settings and obtained a connection... however the unit continues to enter the GSM dormant state... and only reconnects upon restart.
    Not exactly a reliable connection.

    Anyone else having this issue?
