Does Rogers charge for incoming MMS?

After asking their reps several times and getting conflicting answers, I thought I'd try here: if I don't have SMS bundle with Rogers, will I be charged for incoming MMS?

All incoming is charged at the pay per use rate IF YOU DONT have a text messaging add on.

Is this a recent change? I've always had an SMS package (no MMS), and incoming MMS has been free in Canada.

You have a text messaging add on so your incoming MMS. SMS. And video msgs are free.

Whether is it free incoming or charged is due to how your account is provisioned for mms and SMS. A year ago it would have been charged in coming mms but its now free to receive mms.

If you plan doesn't include SMS, you will be charged to receive and send.

Problem is there is tonnes of grandfathered plans, retention, consumer plans, that all offer different SMS free or charged, so REP confusion will be normal.

You can ask when on phone for them( or ask if you can have a freind send one ) to send a sample SMS to see if charged and if so would like fee removed. Shoudl show up online within a few housr as billable or not, and then call back for refund and then you know

Does Rogers charge for incoming MMS?

Why is everybody answering the question in relation to incoming SMS, when the OP is asking about MMS? I'm on the old $10 Retention VP and I have always been charged for incoming MMS. I will admit that it's been a long time since I have received a picture message, so I can't confirm if this is still the case.

MMS is free to receive while in Canada, even without a messaging bundle.

I'm in the same situation. I get charged for incoming and outgoing SMS and MMS.
On my iphone I turned that option off so I can not receive them.
Unfortunately, while I am playing with a samsung S3, I could not find an option to turn it off.
All the newer plans include picture and video messaging

The correct answer is "MAYBE". You need to give more details. Plan? In market or retentions? Grandfathered?

So I just got off the phone with a rogers csr, he looked at my 2yr old account and said that I should only be charged for outgoing sms and mms. I asked them to put a block on my account to prevent unnecessary charges.

I forgot to mention that what prompted this call was that a friend sent me an mms and I didn't want to incur any charges.

Does Rogers charge for incoming MMS?

My plan includes unlimited SMS, and i never got charged for incoming MMS, i mean the sender is already paying to send the mms why should the receiver get charge if not for roaming?

We're talking about Rogers here. Logic doesn't apply here. Nadir will do anything to keep his revenues up.
