    Question about rogers warranties

When you buy a phone from rogers, does it come with any warranty?

What about if you buy a new rogers phone, privately from someone who doesn't need their new upgraded phone? I recently bought a Lumia 920 (rogers version) from someone privately, I didn't get the receipt or anything. It is now having issues- can I take it into a rogers store and have them do something about it? It's obviously only been purchased within the last month or so at most since the phone itself is very new. Or am I out over $500?

    Cheers

Contact the person who purchased the phone originally. The warranty is 1 year and covers the hardware and all accessories (usually). Doesn't matter who's account the phone was purchased from. You'll need a copy of the invoice showing the purchase with the same IMEI number on it. Rogers may contact the person who you bought it from to confirm stuff but I've never had any issues with phones that I've sold to other people and having them use the warranty. The key is to have a copy of the invoice with the IMEI number on it.

Just take it into a Rogers store, and have them look it up using your phone number, postal code and IMEI. It should indicate a manufacturer's warranty end date and if proof of purchase is needed or not. Good luck! :-)

go rogers store ask for warranty repair ask u whats your number if you know the number of the previous owner give and tell them you both the phone they will call the owner to confirm it. if the owner said the phone was lost or stolen your in big trouble.

    This.
I believe the warranty either kicks in from when the unit is first sold, or more likely from when the unit first lights up on the Rogers network.

I've never had to provide a receipt to send in a device under warranty, even when I wasn't the original owner, but this is my personal experience. Not that I've had to send in many phones under warranty though, only recent example was mid last year, and since the phone was not even out on the market for a year, didn't have to show a receipt. They'll probably just make sure it's a Rogers unit by the IMEI and that it's not stolen (possibly) and you're good to go. Of course you have to be an active Rogers customer to send it in through Rogers, otherwise, you may have to deal with Nokia directly.

Not so much pot and kettle, since WorldIRC does consistently give good advice instead of just unhelpful rubbish. See the difference?

Not under his original name, as he was perma-banned. There has been some speculation that he is back, using a different name to post the same rubbish.

Neat. Weird results though. I exchanged my phone shortly after receiving it. When I plug in the new IMEI it shows the warranty starts at the right date but ends after only 3 months. When I enter the IMEI of the original phone it shows the full 1 year.
