Is there an app to hide apps

Is there an app that you can hide an app on your scrolling menu?

Titanium Backup can Freeze programs. Once Frozen these apps are then hidden & can't be used. To see & use again they must be Defrosted.

I found several apps that lock apps but none were free. But even if there is one sifting through all of the search results to find it would be time consuming.

If you use a different launcher, some of them will hide apps. I know LauncherPro will do it, as that's what I use. I'm not sure about others.

I haven't seen any apps that hide other apps from the list per se, but like some others said I'd try to see if some launchers (because the app list is a launcher) have this feature.

The good news is that if you have ICS, or if your phone will get updated to ICS soon, you'll be able to disable apps out right (without necessarily uninstalling them) so they'll be hidden from the list (and everywhere else on your phone).

How about Link2SD? It freezes and thaws apps perfectly, and it's totally compatible with the Titanium method of freezing/thawing (if that even matters).

I know GO Launcher lets you hide apps, but you also have to be using it as your launcher. Still though, that lets you hide apps without obliterating them, and it obviously doesn't need root. (other launchers might do this too, but Go is the only one that comes to mind right now.)

Like in post #6 and some afterwards, some different Launchers will hide some of your home screen icons. I do not know any to check for or to recommend since been too long.

What do you mean by scrolling menu?

If you mean the home screens, just press and hold the icon and drag it to the top where is says Remove. That removes it from the home screen. The app icon, and the ability to run it, will remain in the available apps list.

What are you trying to accomplish? Unclutter the home screens or keep someone from running an installed app? You can disable some apps, but that won't keep someone clever from enabling them. Removing apps (that allow that) won't keep someone from reinstalling them.
