When is the Sierra Wireless AirCard 763S going to be released?

Does anyone here know when the Sierra Wireless AirCard 763S will be released? Will there be Rogers branding on the device? Rogers' LTE website shows the 763S with branding. I hope that was a mistake.

It was available yesterday, the 20th :-)

Yes, the new Rogers LTE Rocket Mobile Hotspot (AirCard 763S) will be Rogers branded.

I pre-ordered this, but I haven't heard anything yet. Is it available in the stores?

Damn it! That is very disappointing news. Is there an unbranded version available for purchase?

Can you confirm whether this hotspot will work with European HSPA+ frequencies? Will the Sierra Wireless 754S extended battery work for this hotspot?

I haven't seen it anywhere in Vancouver. If you do end up getting one, please post a review of the hotspot. I'm very interested in picking one up for myself.

I picked up my pre-order y'day. Works as advertised. Easy setup. I'm enjoying fast speeds on all my mobile devices now.

    1. What is the difference between the Aircard 754S and Aircard 763S?

    2. If I pay full price, can I unlock the Rogers Aircard 763S so I can use it with a USA carrier while travelling in USA?
    Thanks,
    Mark Rejhon

I will answer my own questions:

    1. Models:
754S - AWS (1700Mhz/2100Mhz) LTE and 700 Mhz LTE (better for Verizon and AT&T)
763S - AWS (1700Mhz/2100Mhz) LTE and 2600 Mhz LTE (better for Rogers and T-Mobile)
Also, the 763S is claimed to have dual-carrier HSPA+ (up to 84 Mbps), although I don't know if Rogers supports that. At the very least, 42 Mbps HSPA+ should be possible (21+21 Mbps). The 763S seems smaller, as well.

    2. Finally, if I get the 763S, I will have to pay to get it unlocked.

Right now, my 6GB/$30 is only 3G, and I'll get a second data-share SIM ($10) but when the HTC One-X comes out, I bet rogers will allow an LTE upgrade path...

I've called in Rogers to order the 763S, and now it's being shipped. It's not in stores yet, but apparently it's available by phone for ordering now. I asked for "the new Sierra wireless mobile hotspot", model 763S, and the CSR recognized immediately what I was asking for.

New $10/month data-share SIM card ordered too, so it'll share off my existing data account.

I got it now! It's a really nice wireless hotspot. Very easy to use.
All you do is press button, it briefly displays the current WiFi password on its screen, as well as the web address for configuration (http://rogers.hotspot). No manual needed -- you're online only 60 seconds after unboxing, if you already know how to plug in a SIM card.

One thing I really noticed is I can use LTE speeds on 3G cellphones this way, by using WiFi. Old 3G iPhones / Android / BlackBerry connected in WiFi mode, downloads apps/files/webpages much faster.

Tip: If you order this hotspot by phone and you already have a big data plan on one of your phones that still has plenty of spare data, also order a $10/month data sharing plan SIM card, it'll come preconfigured.

When you do this, doesnt it create another account or something and locks you on a three year contract? I wanted to have data share on mine but the rep told me that it will have its own three year contract and cancellation fees apply

That's not true (anymore). Rogers website http://www.rogers.com/web/content/dataSharing says it's monthly.
Click the "(2) Add Additional Devices" and you'll see the $10 sharing on a monthly plan.

Tell the CSR that it says so on the website.
If giving the web address over the phone for the CSR to verify, tell them that the letter "S" in "dataSharing" is uppercase.
