    LG GS170 Web Browser

Regarding the web browser in the LG GS170 phone, I have noticed on Yahoo's mobile site, the browser is displaying a lot of broken image placeholders on the pages.

When I placed the SIM in another phone (Samsung SGH-T139) and looked at Yahoo's page with that, the pages appeared correctly.

Could this be due to the type of images are not supported or cannot be displayed by the LG's browser, or perhaps a different browser setting? The setting to display images, is set to "on".

You could try a different URL. I have the same issue and sometimes that will work. Here are the three you can try.

    m.yahoo.com

    us.m.yahoo.com

    us.m2.yahoo.com

If that doesn't help I would try Opera Mini if you can. Yahoo always renders perfectly with Opera Mini so that's my default browser for Yahoo.

    Wirelessly posted (SAMSUNG-SGH-T139/T139UVJC1 NetFront/3.4 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

Thanks for the reply. I tried all those URL's and saw the same results with all of them. When I changed the settings in the Samsung phone browser, sets of parentheses were seen, or in desktop mode it displayed broken placeholders, so I think the issue is with Yahoo's site and not the phone. One oddity noticed with the LG phone was when that SIM card was put in it, the display had "Get more..." on the line under "T-Mobile" on the main screen.
