    FaceTime with headset

I really like the innovation of facetime on iPods and iPhones. I realize when using them in a not private setting privacy is limited as people can see whom you are talking to. And people can see whom you are in the company of. I am just curious as to whether there is a headset standard to eliminate the voice portion of a convo from being heard by everyone.

I mean can you use a bluetooth headset or an Apple stereo wired headset to keep the voice portion of the convo partially private?

Thanx in advance for your help and responses. It is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried either method? And if so, which one? I tried the bluetooth and, it doesn't work.

Bluetooth headset worked for me. I haven't tried very recently, as my headset crapped out and I replaced it with a speakerphone for the car, where I cannot use facetime. Works fine with my earbuds.

I tried it just now and yep, bluetooth works. The headphones also definitely work too.

Ok thanx. I tried this on my iPhone 4 in the past and the sound still came through my phone.

I tried this with my wife on my iPhone 4s. It worked through bluetooth. In the past, this wouldn't work. It must be due to iOS 5. Works good too!

worked for me on iOS 4.x (whatever came with the iphone 4 I had) as well as whichever 4.x.x version came with my ipad 2. both bluetooth headset and bluetooth headphones worked for me with Facetime. I think when Skype first came out IT wasn't compatible with bluetooth, but I think that's been fixed.
