Sprint and Apple Working On "Issue" With iPhone Data Speeds

In the days after the iPhone launched on Sprint, a number of customers complained about extremely slow data speeds on Sprint's network. Sprint initially denied that there were any problems, but now a report from TheNextWeb suggests that is a problem with Sprint's iPhone data speeds:

Now it seems that an internal email has been sent to Sprint representatives, informing them that Apple and Sprintare working together on a “confirmed nationwide issue” dealing with the slow data rates many users are experiencing. There was no information about what the cause of the issues are or what the expected resolution date might be.

The email did contain a reference to a ‘Service Settings’ update, which sounds like it could be referring to the carrier settings file that contains access point info for the carriers.

Funny. DW thinks the 3G is fast enough. As fast or faster than AT&T.

So, being curious after reading that article, I ran a speedtest on the Sprint line. Topped out at .43 Mps down and .01 up. hahaha.

Sadly, that's also about what I get from AT&T from what I remember. I'll have to redo a speedtest on the AT&T phones cuz I haven't done them in a while.

    Working fine now.

Maybe not has fast as ATT but it's good enough.

If its fixed then why am I still having issues?
What the government gives to one, it must take from another.

It is not the iphone. it's their network since our store demo phones have crap speed as well.

We've been having issues in NY few months before the phone even launched.

lol, this is nothing new. The phones at the Valley Stream store location on Long Island haven't worked in years, but people still buy em.

3G seems to have gotten better around here but there are times when it does get bogged down a lot. Some tests I have hit 2mbps+ and come back the next day, 200kbps. Strange.

My speed has increased from .01 mbps to .20 mbps. Still unusable for the most part.

Are these speed issues gone? Want to move to sprint but have to be able to kind of you the data on the phone outside wifi.
