    Blackberry BBX CDMA/LTE devices

RIM is hoping that its new BBX OS, taken from the QNX software that runs the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, will help it more than make up the gap between itself and the competition. The first new release from RIM next year will take place on March 13th with the launch of the BlackBerry London. This will be the first BBX powered phone and could end being called the BlackBerry Surfboard, a name RIM reserved in 2010. The name refers to the surfboard-like shape of the device and it's outstanding web browser for surfing the internet. The London is said to be powered by a TI OMAP CPU running at 1.5 GHz. If that's an OMAP 4460, like the Galaxy Nexus, that likely won't be at the top of the performance heap by June, but if it's the OMAP 4470, it might be okay. Of course, given the right software optimization, it may not matter too much. The London also reportedly has 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB internal storage, an 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera. The BlackBerry is one of the first supposed BBX devices launching with Verizon, other than that information is scarce.
