iPhone 3G Stuck In Recovery Mode (Don't Know Previous Firmware)

    Hi,

I was restoring my iPhone 3G because I wanted to give it to my dad and it went into recovery mode. Its been a while since I used it and I can't remember the firmware it was on from the top of my head. I tried restoring it in iTunes but get an error. Is there an easy way of getting out of recovery mode? Im willing to take the time and try every firmware out if needed.

    Thanx!

On this page http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/ is a tool for fixing recovery.

I had to restore my phone a couple of times and try the tool a bunch of times but it did work for my phone.

In my case I had an iphone 4 on 4.3.2 and I restored using 4.3.3 (not sure if this matters)

One of the best ways is to force a reboot. This way, you can solve most of the problems associated with iOS devices without any computer. Learn how to fix iPhone 6s and legacy devices in recovery mode:
    1. Simultaneously press the power (wake/sleep) and home button on the device.
    2. Press and hold both buttons for at least 10-15 seconds.
Let them leave because the Apple logo will appear on the screen.
If it doesn't work, there are other ways to solve the problem of the iPhone in recovery mode in addition to the DFU mode.

In addition, you'd better contact Apple for help.

If you have tried many times but still failed, you may a hardware problem.

Also double check that you have the latest version of iTunes installed.
