Using t-mobile data tethering with new free wifi calling

This seems obvious, but can anybody confirm. I have one line with tethered data via a cradlepoint router creating a wifi hotspot. Can I make free t-mobile calls via UMA over that data line, which is tethered through another t-mobile phone.

I don't believe that VOIP will work this way, but I don't see any reason why UMA from another t-mobile phone wouldn't be free.

I have done it by mistake on my G2. I had my wife's G2 setup as HotSpot while my phone had the wifi turned on. After I made a call I noticed on my phone that the Wifi calling was turned on. It does not work that great when you don't have fast data speeds like Edge.

    It will work for sure.
Sometimes I use Galaxy Tab (with webconnect) hotspot sharing for G2x to run wifi calling:
Galaxy Tab receives 3G signal and share over wifi while G2x uses this wifi signal to make calling.

as scott mentioned it will work when/wherever
you are able to connect to any wifi (un)secured.
just as long as you have free uma calling feature.

    Wirelessly posted (P990: Opera/9.80 (Android; Opera Mini/6.1.25577/25.692; U; en) Presto/2.5.25 Version/10.54)

I did it on accident last night- connected to another tmo mytouch 4g's wifi hotspot, and used wifi calling on my phone. The end result was that tmo counted the minutes I used as if it was used on the other phone (the one who had wifi hotspot on). It never registered onto my phone, interestingly.
