Question Anyway to use data on BlackBerry & Straight Talk?

Is there anyway at all to use any type of data using a BlackBerry Bold 9000, OS5 on Straight Talk with a SIM from a Nokia E71?

I have been using my iPhone for about 6 months now and I just prefer my BB over my iPhone.

I have tried editing the APN to the same one I use on my iPhone, no luck.
I've read and read and found nothing but no's.
    It has to be possible.

My data and MMS work great on my iPhone, I just wish I could use those features on my BlackBerry instead.

it is possible through service book modding. find someone with an active blackberry on ATT. back up there service books onto your computer then use magicberry or some other servicebook editing program to change the books like MMS and BBISB. thats as much as i know. im trying to achieve the samw thing you are doing. my sister has a torch so im extra lucky. ill try it out and get back to you.

As far as I know there are a few who have tried (myself included) but I don't think anyone has reported back with success.

From what I've read. It's possible. If you just want data via browser, its tricky with the BB browser. If you download opera via wifi it works since it doesn't go through the BB connect thing. Not really sure though.

I can deal with just using Opera for my main browser, I will have to stick with my iPhone on ST until someone else or myself finds a way to get data / mms working.
I've never edited a service book so I have no idea how hard that is.

Opera DOES WORK, and is quite fast on the 3G on my Bold 9000, all I did was change the APN to att.mvno and left the rest blank in the TCI/IP settings.

its actually quite easy. much easier than say, re writing NV items. or anything else that requires CDMA workshop. on a level from 1 - 10 (1 being syncing your contacts with google) its probably a 2.

Is there anyway to edit a service book to make all of the apps connect via WAP instead of BIS?
Opera works great via the att.mvno WAP

im not sure but ill take a look. the MMS and some other books have APN's that can be changed to the att.mvno, but they also have ports that can be changed, and im pretty sure the ports for ST and ATT arent the same. changing the apn on the WAPwifi(something like that) should fix that. again this is just off the top of my head so dont take it to heart.

I made Service Books for Straight Talk. You need to edit the APN on the phone plus use a Service Book. I have not worked too much on the MMS Transport book because I dont know anyone who can test for me.

I can share the books once I get home.

    I'd really appreciate it.
I'm sure bigdaddyaaron would be willing to test as well.

i love you. lol. yes Falcon and i would be more than willing and happy to test.
how did you go about constructing a service book? is it as simple as editing and existing service book to whatever settings you require and renaming it(uid, name, ect.)?

    Try this for starters.

As for how? I learned from another guy who hacked Service Books, how to do it using WinHex, then came other applications such as MagicBerry, which does not work that well, not even 60% of the time.

I did it so that I could produce Service Books for those using Sprint Blackberrys on Boost Mobile... then Boost came out with their own Blackberry, so their inhouse version could be used also.
