    howardforums.com adds StraightTalk

Hello, my name is Shane and I'm the owner/operator of howardforums.com

Tonight we have added StraightTalk to our system and I am in need of some assistance from you guys to make sure the system is working completely.

howardforums.com is my way of providing to the community a safe way of verifying the ESN (and some IMEI) of a phone before making that selling, or purchasing mistake.

What I need is a few ACTIVE and INACTIVE StraightTalk CDMA phone ESN or MEID and the same goes for the IMEI.

The system will not report any information at this time, until I can get the necessary information to complete the new addition to the site.

If you could please send me a PM with the requested info, that would greatly help speed along the process.

    Thanks Guys!

Okay, thanks to those of you who provided us with your ESN and IMEI. Now that we have finished our testing, the Straight Talk addition is active and live.

Please report any errors or issues you have. You may PM me, email me from the contact form on the website, or reply to this thread.

    Thanks!

    Update - July 20 2011

We have now added Cricket Wireless to our ESN Checker!

It is currently in beta stage, so if you notice any errors, please report them!

    Thanks!

So how exactly would this help us - the end user?

What does your site do and do for us?

Like, say, if i was thinking about buying an e71 off ebay or a pawn shop or a friend. What would your service tell me? If the phone is currently active?

Exactly. The website will show if an ESN is currently active or if it's clean to be activated on a different account.

It's been very very successful for over 10 dealers, and recycling services, as well as hundreds who buy/sell phones for commercial and personal use.

So has straight talk taken some e71s "offline" and blacklisted them?

    Maybe because why?

    Stolen
    User violated terms of service
    Or something like that?

I dont think you can use a phone from craigslist since IEMI and Sim are tied together only thing you will be able to do it to waste your money and get the seller connection disconnected lol
    MY HOFO FEEDBACK

all help given is free, and as is. I'd hate for someone to try and sue me for a mobile bill

If an IMEI is clean, it can be activated.

ESN applies to CDMA phones only. GSM phones have no ESN.

We can check straight talk IMEIs also, so it should show the correct status.

Update: Patch for Verizon tab issued thanks to howardforums.com

So, today we issued a patch to fix the unreliable system notifications for Verizon Wireless.

ESN Checking should be much more reliable on Verizon.

Speed in checking ESN responses may be slow, depending on how busy the site/server is.

As always, if you notice ANY problems, please report them either here, or using the contact tab on the site.

im being told that some imei's are the incorrect length which is not possible...for example from an ST E71 3537820406xxXXX thats an active working imei but shows invalid length

If you enter 15 characters, then it can't be the wrong length for IMEIs. Give me the IMEI (via PM) and I'll check it through the terminal.
