I wanted to point out that Google Goggles works as a barcode and QR code scanner. It will also do other fun things like if you scan a logo on a can of beer it will take you to that companies website, or if you take a photo of a famous landmark it will take you to the Wikipedia for that landmark.

One time I used it on a picture of a flower on my friends wall. It came up with a demotivational poster of a girl reading a book. I thought "thats odd" then I noticed in the background of the poster was THE SAME PICTURE HANGING ON THE WALL behind the girl!

Since getting my Samasung Galaxy Indulge I have experienced data service outages almost on a daily basis. When contacting MetroPCS about it they rarely even know whats going on. I can check online and see many people having the same issues durring the same times all over the US. MetroPCS reps at local stores are not even notified of outages or scheduled maintenance and try to diagnose phones as being defective when that is not the case.
I have decided to take this issue into my own hands and create a simple app that people can load on their phone to to let everyone know what the current networks status is for each state in the USA.
Please note that when your phone is connected via WiFi, only service outages can be reported.

The status page can be viewed both from the app and from your PC. From a PC, visit the following URL http://androidinvasion.us/MetroPCS/status.php

Amazon App Store
https://www.amazon.com/app-email (visit the website via your phone, otherwise you'll download the apk to your computer)
Alright, so it basically allows you to download "warez" (though I thought those were stolen apps) for free once a day. I've downloaded about $100 in free apps thanks to Amazon's free app of the day. And if you do decide you'd like to purchase an app, Amazon will sometimes have the app discounted from what you'd normally see in the Android Market. It's nothing amazing, but I like to keep it around just so I can download the free app of the day. You never know when you'll need a $1.99 Spanish language translator. It does require you to have an Amazon account with a credit card attached and one-click purchasing enabled, but I just used one of our old visas as I don't ever purchase anything so Amazon never needs to validate and make sure the card is working.
My favorite apps are:
Juice Defender (helps you save battery by mainly shutting off data when it's not used).
RealCalc (scientific calculator)
PowerAMP (the best music player on the market)
KakaoTalk (cross-platform battery friendly instant messenger)
Skype (video chat)
GoChat (facebook chat)
Ringdroid (make your own ringtones)
AdFree* (removes ads from free apps)
SetCPU* (helps stability and better control of cpu clock)
Flashlight + LED (has a widget to use LED flash as a flashlight)
AK Notepad (simple easy to use notepad + saves/syncs notes online)
Adding a few apps that I discovered since the last post.
AirPush Detector - AirPush is an adware that is attached to many apps (usually free wallpaper, ringtone, etc apps). I always end up deleting it after I remove the adware app, but time and time again, I'll download an app that has airpush on it.
Andy-83 - I like this for nostalgic reasons. It's a Ti-83 emulator.
Box - the 50GB promo is over, but it's still a nice cloud file storage service.
DataSwitch - Toggle data on or off. Very compact, fast, and useful to retoggle your 4G if for some reason it switches to 3G and doesn't reconnect to 4G.
Pixlr-o-matic - Forget about all the fancy cameras with filters. I just take photos and then filter them after. Has a LOT of different filters to get the look you want for your photos.
Pro Zoom Camera 5x - I've tried about 7-10 different camera apps and I like this one the most. If you need the filters on the camera, then this isn't for you, but it's a very good point and shoot camera. Also, if you miss the physical camera button, you can set it so that your volume button takes the picture. This isn't the only app that does it, but for sure this one does.
Alarm Clock Xtreme - It's a very customizable alarm clock. I like it because on the main screen, there's an "egg-timer" which basically lets you set a quick alarm for x hours/minutes/seconds to set alarms based on duration and not a specific time.
Screen Filter - It dims your screen. Sometimes when I'm playing with my phone at night in bed, it's still kind of bright at 0% brightness. You can dim it further. It's also great for conserving battery if you're trying to squeeze out the last few %.
Brightness Level by CurveFish - Widget that allows you to toggle brightness. I prefer this over the 0%, 60% 100%, Auto. Clicking the widget opens a popup menu which lets you toggle 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%,auto as well as a sliding bar.
Smart Tools - It's a pretty fun app to use. Protractor, uses pythagorean theorem to calculate distance & height, compass, "metal detector," and measures sound/vibration (not that accurate). It's just kinda cool.
Tapatalk - I'm sure a lot of you might use this already, but this is a great way to browse forums on your phone. Sometimes, I prefer it over the pc.
Uninstaller by Rhythm Software - Great tool to remove apps if you download and remove a lot of apps.
