Funny thing on sprints website it says the i1 sends and receives sms messages. With the i1 being completely capable and the only android it would only make sense along with the 8350i
I think the i680 description on the Sprint website also says it can do SMS.

    Turn the lights off already!
    Baseband??????????????
Do you mean Android OS? If so, 1.5 was chosen due to it being the most stable and easiest to get to work with PTT

Ran the update, the only thing I've noticed thus far is that the phone has rebooted on me twice in the last couple of hours, while opening a few different programs.

Not off to a good start.

Couple of friends told me that the phone got bit faster and that it helped with the "user busy data" problem... well the i1 that I have is from boost so I can't really say anything about this update yet

I got the update OTA yesterday. No stability issues so far.

    Things I've noticed:
The YouTube app is included and works
Skyfire works too. It doesn't show up in the market but if you download Skyfire 2.3 from http://www.skyfire.com/product/android it works

Calling out with Google Voice still doesn't work. It fails with "You have dialed an incorrect number or code, please hang up and dial again.".

I get the same error if I try to call a number starting with +1 without Google Voice.

I'm using a Nextel i1 with a Boost SIM so maybe that's part of the problem. Has anyone had any success with calling with Google Voice since the update?

    Updated my i1 this morning.
Alot less painless than updating a Blackberry.
Was a bit concerned when I had a black screen for a bit but, it went through the process without a hitch.
Was able to use Google Voice without any issues so far.
It also has a GV toggle app that lets you switch your GV setting quickly, such as use GV for all calls, International calls, Do not use GV for any calls, etc.
It appears to have fixed the busy in data issues.
On of my coworkers had the fancy widget app installed and his phone was polling all the time and it was almost impossible to get through to him on DC but, since he updated his we have not had any problems.
    I guess we will see..........
