You can easily remove the Stage UI widgets from the 2.2 layout, but there isn't a whole lot you can do with 1.6.

I'm new to Android phones so this might be a stupid question ... hopefully not though
I'm thinking of getting a Dell Streak for my wife but I find the UI (based on watching YouTube videos) to be not the most intuitive. I've had a chance to play around with the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate and their UI just seems so simple to use. I know Dell Streak is apparently coming out with the Stage UI with the 2.2 update. It seems more intuitive, but it also seems like overkill and again just not as nice as the Galaxy for example. So I'm wondering if there's a way to change the UI on the Dell Streak to something else, maybe the default Android UI (not that I have any experience with it, but I'm guessing it's got to be better than a customized Dell UI), or is the default Android UI the UI that the Dell Streak 1.6 comes with?
Thanks,
Harry

There are numerous UI available. I didn't like the way stage ui behaved so someone recommend me to use adw.launcher.
Works great. Of course I have a unlocked streak with froyo but for those who are on the locked streak the update (official) should
Be available in a few weeks. Or you could get froyo unofficially.
I'm waiting on my red unlocked Streak. Looking forward to it, hopefully the front-facing camera eventually becomes useful with 2.2.
