Cool T-mobile G2 Free for upgrade

Just got off the phone with retentions. I was gonna pop for the $150 "Deal" that I'd spoken with them about last week. Well, when she pulled everything up she told me to put the credit card away. It caught her by suprise as well, since I guess they had not posted an internal bulletin yet. Twas a nice Xmas present indeed...

Got this yesterday too. Didn't have to upgrade my data plan either since I have a grandfathered one. Dunno how long it'll last though

I didn't get free overnight shipping, just the standard 3 day shipping.

Dunno abotut the mytouch. If you've been a long time customer, and your out of contract. just call t-mobile, say cancel, and say that you want to upgrade your phone. ask what they have in stock

and no, didn't have to pay anything one bit

again, dunno how long this "promotion" will last though

Welps, so I had a nice conversation with a rep. He told me that only the G2 and the Vibrant is free at this time. Everything else is still on the BOGO promo.

This still work for anybody else?

Has anybody else been able to get this? When I called T-Mo yesterday afternoon, a customer service rep offered me the free G2. I wanted to check out the phone in-person at the store last night, and I was pretty happy with it. However, this morning when I called T-Mo to finally place my order, 2 different reps told me that they've never heard of this "free" G2 deal before! Did this deal expire?

You have to ask the retentions department.

Thanks! I needed to get new smartphones for two of my lines that were out of contract. I called today, initial Customer Service rep claimed no knowledge of this. I had to threaten to cancel and ask for Retentions. Then the Retentions rep offered me the G2 free with $20 Android data service and free two-day shipping to get here for Christmas.

(She said the Vibrant was not available free on this offer and would have cost $150 for upgrade or I might have got one of those instead.)

I did note, if you don't already know, that once setup you have to keep the data plan on the same line for the 2 year contract duration, you can't switch it if you want to use the phone on a different line.

Called T-mobile and spoke to customer loyalty department; they said this promotion expired just before Christmas. I winded up calling three different times, only to get the same answer.

Anybody been able to get this, or is it really over?
