Loss of Data Coverage - Torch 9800 on ATT

    Hello,

On 2nd new 9800 unit right now... experiencing total loss of Data coverage on the units. BRUTAL!!

Anyone else on ATT experiencing this with 9800 Torch? I'm based in NYC.

Could this be an OS issue??

Reception on my Torch seems fine. I don't get as many WiFi bars as I did with my Bold, but I think the strength gauge is more accurate (less optimistic).

GregF, I'm not referring to reception.

The issue is the loss of data access... ie, unable to browse the web, use bbm, receive/send email.

    Hope this clarifies.

    Thanks!

I lost data right after i deleted some unwanted Apps the phone had. It took a reboot to get the data back. I have read on other forums that this has happened to other users as well.

Is this similar to your situation?

    Hi RCA,

I haven't deleted any apps that came with the factory OS 6.0

    Right now, I've added
    Windows Live Messenger - 2.5.57
    Whatsapp - 2.4.6287
    Foursquare - 1.9
    Facebook - 1.8.0.49
    Google Mail - 2.0.7
    Google Mobile - 3.7.15
    Google Sync - 0.7.3
    Google Maps - 4.4.0
    The Weather Channel - 1.5
    WeatherEye - 2.1.0.1

I had IM+ Lite installed as well - but I'm not sure if IM+ is the app that has cause the loss of data connection or if it's the Whatsapp application.

At this point, I only have the Whatsapp installed and am monitoring it until I feel that I can install IM+.

I'm not sure which application is causing me to lose data connection : confused :
