Eldar at mobile-review is claiming the n9 we saw a few months ago is canceled. So in terms of hardware it could be anything at this point if what Eldar said is true.

Look it up at the nokia rumor thread at mobile-review.com

was it running the full WP7 or just zune/xboxlive apps....
twitter rumors say that's symbian/meego will join the zune for media and xboxlive for gaming..
the ecosystem Elop was speaking of...

According to the article, full WP7. It actually makes sense in combination with what Eldar said about the N9 with keyboard getting scrapped and the next one being just a pure touch screen. Dell went with the portrait QWERTY slider design because WP7 wasn't designed with landscape mode in mind. Nokia might consider it easier to just do a pure touch screen rather than figure out how to get landscape QWERTY working. That would also cover the necessary hardware button changes.

I'm still hoping they don't can MeeGo, as it looks very powerful from an interface perspective (assuming it doesn't crash), hell even Maemo 5 still is, but if WP7 means we get to see a new Nokia device by the end of the year for sure, instead of having it pushed back to 2012, I'll be happy.
The word 'Pentaband' means '5 Bands', from the Greek word 'pente' meaning '5'. For a phone to be pentaband it has to support 5 bands. If the phone has AWS support, it doesn't automatically mean that it is pentaband.

Don't send me PMs for questions that can be asked publicly.

God I hope not. WP7 is the worst of the iOS without any of the benefits of Apple's ecosystem.

Garg. I can see WP7 as a foothold to get some carrier presence in the US... but going with it as the primary mechanism, much less putting all their eggs in that basket seems so risky. Especially with Microsoft's notoriously capricious relationship with their previous partners.

    gravedigger:

heres an updated speclist, i figured myt as well just stuff it all in there, half of this stuff wouldnt work together anyway, and the OMAP5 isnt the configured the right way, let alone on a peice of Si yet so w.e i understand that but this is just a taste of how far i think a telecomm can take it today (given 6months to assemble and build) then a few months to test, but do it like the N900 and just throw it out there, no one, who is looking to get a 2000$ dev phone is gonna care anyway, as long as maemo5 was a baseline and you dont drop below that functionality, i could deal. but this is just the personal musings of a serial rantist:

I really REALLY wish they could get the xenon flash on there. I'd be quite ok with 8mp really. Just get that damned xenon flash. Dual LED is ok for video.

    64GB+ storage plz.

^same here. The community behind it will be large enough to keep it going strong. I can see myself keeping this for a long time. I loved my N900 but no 3g killed it for me. Can't wait for this. Hopefully it releases sooner than later. I want it now haha.
