    i1 Disassembled

    Hey guys, decided to take the Motorola i1 apart, will be working on My Gf's i1w Droidy Edition over the next week or two, pictures will come of the i1w (Droidy) so stay tuned, but for now here are some pics of the inside of the i1.

    great guide. got me halfway there for a digitizer replacement for a Motorola i1. Very interesting and rugged phone.

    I agree, been using this phone since it came out and have had real good luck with its durability. Even the screen is holding up great. Thanks for the great pictures of the inside!

    yeah it's a durable phone and very interesting construction, as Motorola are known for. I fixed an i1 TWICE. In both cases, it had been run over! Only thing that broke was the glass.

    BTW OP, I just noticed the DROID X in your first pic. Nice! I have one, too.

    I was just saying how I missed modding like my i90, not much out there but snap on shells for my i1.

    no prob guys glad i can give you guys some insight. Also ya i like my droid x, but gave up my i1 for a i897 ferrari. I didnt like the i1 that much, it was a cheaper version of my droid x and i didnt wanna pay for data for that too if it wasnt working so good. But it was a durable and good phone regardless.

    Great pics! Got my most of the way to replacing the lcd in an i1. The only thing which is beyond me right now is getting the lcd itself out. It's a great deal of fun to try and fix things like this, but this lcd is driving me nuts. Any suggestions?
