    Dead Flash vs Unlock?

So my phone bricked a while ago. Dead Flashed it. Everything is fine now, i can still use the phone perfectly.

However, does this mean the phone is now unlocked? or is it still sim-locked to the carrier.

I always thought sim lock is a software subject. Therefore if the phone was bricked, and then dead flashed. Should everything not have been overwritten?

easy way to check is to put on a sim from another company. You will know if it is or is not.

it comes up with "phone restricted" asking for a "restriction code"

I have a 6300 from Germany and it is Sim free ( Sim unlocked ) I do not get that message so I suspect it is still locked. Now this error comes up when you place the Fido Sim in it?

    a rogers sim

but i thought it'd be a different message than "phone restricted". sounds more like the sim is rejecting the phone than vice versa

I dunno, generally flashing it with stock Nokia (not the provider's) firmware will work. However, if you used your provider's firmware, you'll need to unlock it via. a code. There are plenty of sites online that can provide you with the unlock code for a small fee.

Flashing the mobile need a little bit off previous experience. And sometimes flashing damages/crashes mobile or loss of data happens if not flashed properly.Facing network unlock/security reset problem it is very easy to go with unlock/master reset codes. You can get codes for your phone from the website unlock-free.com freely with instruction.
