I'll be keeping my 3GS, I plan on using gift cards I have available toward the purchase of an iPhone 4 at RadioShack (might just end up getting the 32GB model for the price of the 16GB model). I also want to eventually buy an original iPhone and iPhone 3G off of eBay to start an iPhone collection.
    Phones I've Owned:
    Nokia, Motorola T720, Samsung SCH-a670, LG VX8100, LG VX9800, Motorola Q, LG VX8550, Sidekick 3, LG VX10000, BlackBerry 8130, BlackBerry 8330, Samsung SPH-a640, HTC XV6800, Apple iPhone 3G 8GB, BlackBerry Storm 9530, Sony Ericsson Xperia X1a, Samsung Impression, Motorola Backflip, Apple iPhone 3GS 16GB, Apple iPhone 4 32GB, Apple iPhone 4S 32GB, HTC Sensation 4G

I have three iPhones activated, all three versions. All of them are upgrade eligible right now but I'm only going to upgrade the 3G and then switch that sim to the 3GS and put the sim that was in the 3GS into the 4G. I'll keep the original with it's original sim. I think I'll just keep the 3G in a drawer somewhere.

My wife and I each have two year-old 3G units. I think it's good to keep one as an "insurance" phone in any event, but at the same time, what could one really ask for a 3G four months from now?

I'm going to keep my 3Gs.

I have two jalilbroken, unlocked 3G's that I will be selling though. I bought them in April last year, and upgraded one to the 3 Gs when in came out last summer. My wife is still using her 3 G, but is getting a new, white, 4 when available.

I travel a lot, and it will be nice to have a spare phone that takes standard sim cards, and also I don't need to worry about international roaming charges on. For instance, I go to Mexico a few times a year, and the AT&T prepaid $ .25 a minute plan works perfectly while roaming there, and is still only $ .25 a minute. Also, I'd rather lose that phone than my new one if I got robbed, or lost it.

not invenstment, rather a backup. I don't have $599 to shell out new iPhone and I don't want to spend $200 on a used iPhone

I'm keeping mine as a backup. You never know when you might need it.

My wife will be using my 3G. I wonder if ATT will force the internet plan, because right now her line has internet blocked completely.

I think i'll be keeping my 3GS, on 3.1.3 right now jailbroken. Waiting for an unlock so I can use it for Europe in the fall.

if iPhone 4 is jailbroken and unlocked, I might sell my 3GS but even then not sure. MicroSIM prepaids might be hard to find overseas, and 3gs will be an excellent backup.

I want to sell but can't due to upcoming events previously mentioned

I've got a buyer already lined up for my 3GS, the day I get my iPhone4.

If it weren't for needing an unlocked phone in Europe, I might pawn my 3GS and just get the iPhone 4.

I could always get a cheap unlocked phone, but it's hard to use anything except an iPhone after years of conditioning.

Giving my wife my 3g, and we are going to use her basic LG flip phone she has now for those "no way in hell am I taking my iPhone there" sort of occasions. Plus we will have another subsidy available if needed.

    Keeping my 3G.

If I had a bit higher of a cost to recoup, I might have sold it. But I have $124 "fido dollars" to credit towards the purchase of the new one, so after tax I'll only be spending $100 to get the iPhone 4 on contract.

Yeah, pretty much pisses me off that I'm so spoiled after I finally took the bait and have had the iPhone for over a month this time...LOL!!

Can't see going to anything else, at least not now...

I will likely just keep my iPhone 3G since it is in such poor condition. There are a bunch of hairline scratches on the screen and the phone is cracked (which is getting bigger) on the back on the phone.
