Is there any iPad alternatives out right now?

So far, all I've been hearing is "about to be released" or "what we have planned is..." for the iPad alternatives. The Microsoft Courier would have been great, and now that HP bought Palm, who knows how long it'll take them to release their slate.

All I know, is that one potential candidate is Notoin's Ink Adam.

Basically, is there any device that is always on like a phone, but is bigger for typing and isn't an iPad that is out ATM?
Anything below this statement isn't part of the post I just made.
    Past Phones: Nokia 3390, 6010, 6133, 5310, X2-02
    Motorola v635, SLVR, v300
    ATT Fuze, HTC Evo 3D
    Samsung Galaxy 4G

i belive that dell will be the first major company that will compete against apple and the iPad.

The Archos 9 turned me on at first, but I was quickly turned off by the reviews. It has Windows 7, and great features though. Just not enough recources, CPU and Ram.

I will wait for a HP or Dell Tablet that has a Windows OS on it..
HP was creating a Tablet with Win 7 on it, but I believe Microsoft left the deal. It would be so HOT too!! (The good hot)

The iPad I really would like though. Sure it may just be a huge version of my iPhone, but you get full screen apps, Internet, notepad instantly at the push of one button.

I dunno. I think iPad has no use to me. My notebook can do what ever that iPad can do or the other features is irrelevant for my needs.

I tried to run Mac OS X on my Asus gaming laptop earlier this week, but I gave up after I found out the wireless would only work with a USB dongle (what I'm currently using for my netbook hackintosh). OS X is cool and all, but ubuntu will be my alternative choice.

The best alternative available right now is the Archos 7 home tablet. Unfortunately it runs android 1.5 and has a resistive touch screen. But it is better than the iPad in some aspects like movie/music codec support.

My "netpad" is a bit heavy and definitely thicker than an ipad, but it has a real keyboard when I flip the screen around.

The Dell Streak looks pretty good - not too small, not to big (at least its pocketable) and the CPU is fast enough for it to not lag (unlike my phone, which I can surprisingly live with). I was actually surprised when it was a phone, and not only a tablet.

No modbook is actually just a regular macbook but instead it is a tablet that is touchscreen. just google it. running a "hackintosh" is what you mean when doing OSX on a PC or Netbook.

I just got my flatpad, and basically Apple wins right now because there's a lack of quality control as companies are just releasing anything to make a dent in the iPad sales.
