I know true cell phone guys don't ever turn their phones off, but....
That's what I thought you meant, but the function is so "basic", taken for granted, so to speak, that I wondered if you were talking about something else. Now I'm even more confused....it doesn't turn off via the same button that turns it on?!

Odd - all you do is hold the power button down. However I did that in the past and the menu didn't appear... who knows...

    Reception and Screen Brightness

For anyone who has received their Nexus One and are using it on Rogers, how do you find the reception?

I was thinking of ordering one but read some negative reviews regarding its reception.

And how about the alleged issue of screen brightness and poor black levels as reported by BGR?

    Thanks.

just got mine, with duties it came out to $36 and change; I'm in Alberta.

    a few questions:

    - how long do I have to initially charge it for? just until it's at 100%?
    - is there anyway to lock the screen without pushing the power button up top? like just by using the touch screen?
    - are you not supposed to put this thing in your pants/jeans pocket?
    - does anyone find the ringer volume really low? even on the highest setting?

aside from that, I love this phone.

I'd also like to know what kind of reception you are getting with the phone with the stories of a weak antenna which gets worse when you cover the bottom of the phone.
Also would like to hear about the sensitivities with the 4 touch buttons at the button. That was another issue. Just wondering how overblown these 2 problems are or if it's of some concern.
    Thanks!

OK, I would be really interested in the answer to this one. The ears aren't as sharp as they used to be!

Guys, read the last few pages or search the thread regarding the extra fees - has been discussed a hundred times already. Screen issue is apparently an overreaction by BoyGenius (likely the auto-brightness is brighter in this version).

Regarding my order, it sucks it got delayed so that it arrives today (hopefully)... Was gonna perform for some kids today but that's gotta wait till Monday or never The things we do for our devices!!!

    Can anyone post a picture?
Also, I see that the extra fees have been discussed... but can anybody give a bottom line number? Total for the phone?
    Thanks.
