    Dialer screen app?

I don't know about you guys but I think the dialer app that is shown when in a call is very ugly compared to the iphone... Are there any apps or equivalent modifications available at all on android to change the default dialer app?

I don't know what the iphone dialer is, but I would love a call screen that shows you who you are talking to AND have the keypad up by default. Lovely though the green robot is...

If you are talking to them you should know who it is. Because if you don't know them chances are they won't be in your phonebook and you won't see their name anyway.

    Lightbulb old phone dialer

I just downloaded this app called "Rotory Dialer" which looks like an old phone dialer and is supposed to work. I haven't tried it yet but it looks like it will.

I didn't have a problem with it at all. Must just be "user friendly"...

I'm referring when you are in a call and you have the option for a dial pad, speakerphone, etc looks better on the iphone, I looked at it closer and I think it is because of the background. The fading green looks awful imo, the iphone has a high res pic of earth... I mean it isn't that big of a deal, just seeing if it could be changed

you could easily change it, but the problem is that it's just a vertical gradient.... i'm not sure if putting a full res picture would work....

this file is from phone.apk, i'm going to try and replace it with a regular image with the same name, i'll let you know what i find.

i knew there was much more to it, but i figured i'd give it a try anyway... 480x720 file just causes the phone app to FC and you can't do anything else on the phone, restoring my backup and i'll try a solid color in 18x720

    Dialer Screen app

.I do admit / agree the dialer I found. Then installed. Then uninstalled. Worked for me, thought not being totally practical by no means, I would be happy if the default set up would just be capable of a backlight time out adjustment setting. Making calls and in most cases having to "back click" to get to the keyboard ONLY for the light to go off every .2 seconds makes me want to see how many houses I could clear w/ a good chuck...
