My dad is currently on a grandfathered Fido plan ($45, unlimited minutes) and wants to get a windows mobile phone to replace his Dell Axim.
His budget is $200, he has no data needs, he just wants a phone that will have all his contacts and calendar. He wants to stick with Windows mobile because he's used to the operating system.
Any suggestions for phones? I've been browsing craigslist and for the budget, I was thinking either a used HTC Touch, or a Touch Dual.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Motorola Q9h. I had one and it was a nice PDA phone with phenomenal RF reception.
Coming from an Axim, he'll want a touchscreen device. I'd suggest a Touch Pro if budget allows, else a TyTn II (AT&T Tilt.)

Or for about $100.00 you can get the Wizard/MDA a little older but still great WM phone.
Touch Pro (also known as AT&T Fuze) or AT&T Tilt (also known as a TyTN II or Kaiser).
Those are by far the best for the money.
See if you can get the Touch Pro on eBay for cheap. I picked a brand new one up for 200 bones there, so who knows!

Samsung i-760, WM6.1, touchscreen going for 85$ @ online auction place.
my dad was in the same spot few months ago...
I got him Samsung Omnia, I got it back then for around 370$, unlocked for 8 GB
my dad used to use i-mate JAM for a very long time, until it died
the Omnia is a great device, very fast, with very good screen
it's also very thin, and will slip easier in the pocket than a touch pro
I'm sure price has dropped since then (April 09)
cheers
I think Dell was selling the Treo Pro for about $200. Was that for a limited time?
I snagged an unlocked Treo Pro from Dell for $179 and am happy with it. I switched from a Tilt (HTC Kaiser) so I could cut my data costs in half with AT&T. This is going to be my phone until WinMo 7 happens...
People say there's no such thing as a good deal. A brand new Treo Pro for $179 IS a good deal. I eyeballed that deal for a few days. I would have bought one if not for the fact that I've already owned one......Twice! Great phone.
Good used WM 6.x phones are extremely cheap now, as little as $5 on eBay although you might need to replace the battery and separately buy a charger. I got a Motorola Q9M that originally was dedicated to Verizon. Put it on a $10 plan with Page Plus that lasts 100 minutes/messages or 120 days. Page Plus piggybacks on Verizon's network. Other major networks usually have other piggyback companies. As long as your usage is low, this route is extremely frugal.
