It's the one area I'm disappointed in with Android. With Verizon feature phones we at least had branded offerings of mainstream games. There's no EA games here. No Trivial Pursuit's, no Scrabble's, no Wheel of Fortune's, etc. It's all pretty B-grade material really.

Since there's a Verizon section of the Marketplace I'm hoping they will release these type games eventually. Of course since it's Verizon that could take awhile.

No prob! Happy to help a fellow gamer!

    My favorite apps are:

    Pandora and Last.fm
    gStrings (awesome guitar tuner program)
    Swift (Twitter)
    YouVersion Bible

Whatever the first app is that really lets me use Skype to call a New Zealand family member for free or cheap.

    No particular order:

TasKiller - I use it to kill apps (1) after I use them, or (2) if they launch themselves and I do not want them using RAM.

Listen - Podcast manager - for downloading and playing podcasts.

PureRSS - RSS feed manager - for downloading and viewing RSS feeds.

YouTube - Since your google/gmail password works with youtube, you can seemlessly browse your youtube favorites and subscribed channels.

Movies - Lists info, links, and plays trailers for upcoming and released films. Also lists theaters close to your current location.

Google Maps - Even Street View works quite well on the HTC Magic.

TuneWiki - I use it to stream Shoutcast.com music stations. It displays album arm for the current song, and it can search youtube for related videos.

Countdown Alarm - Simple and clean looking countdown timer.

Stopwatch - Simple and clean looking stop watch.

Any Cut - I use it to create short cuts on the desktop to specific settings and status pages.

I really like colordict because it uses free dictionary plugins in the open DICT format and there are tons of those available. It will look up your word in all of your installed plugins and show the results together.

I have a couple different dictionaries, a thesaurus, a brittanica encyclopedia, and their wiki plugin. I also saw various language translators and bible dictionaries available, it's pretty cool.

The dictionary data files can also be installed to your SD card, which is useful.

The only thing missing is a TWL lookup; I have a separate app for that.

Assuming PureRSS will be running all the time, to keep you updated....how much is this affecting battery life?
I've been looking for a nice rss feed reader for a couple sites I like to get info/updates from. I didn't like NewsRob.

Also this may be stretching the capabilities of the phone/browser a little bit. But is there anything like "Add Blocker Plus" (ABP is a firefox plugin) available as an add-on to the stock Droid browser? Can Steel do anything like this? I find adds to be annoying while browsing.

I am right there with you. I miss ABP and my other add-ons.

It won't be long before Firefox for Mobile is out, and it is built to allow add-ons just like the desktop version.

Rumors are saying it will be out in December for Android.

We wii just have to see how it stacks up against Webkit.

I'm the author of the article linked above and unfortunately it looks like the Android version will not come out in December, contrary to what you may have read. Maemo will be ready for sure and WinMo is almost sure but definitely not Android.
