    UserFirst Scammer

I recently(last week) made a transaction with this user "UserFirst". Sold him a brand new iPhone 3GS 32GB model. I responded to his BST WTB post. He asked right questions(exchanged many PMs) so didn't occur to suspect him. He sent money $700 USD via paypal as we agreed that price & I shipped the phone to hm via paypal international shipping to Canada. 2 days later payapal put a hold on this transaction as they suspected that it is fraudelent & took the funds out my account and they asked me where I shipped the package and tracking information which I provided right away. After receiving the info, they said that they will release my funds once they see that the package has been delivered. However, Canadapost attempted to deliver on 9/4 & held at the post office as this guy seems to be not at the address.

Also, I immediately sent him an email at [email protected] as I got funds from that email. He responded back saying that he had issues with paypal account & will fix the issue asap. Following was his message 4 days ago.

    Yeah sorry this issue happened.

Basically I did a transaction on ebay recently and it seems that paypal has frozen all my transactions because of it.

I wasn't a member on ebay for a very long time, but i was banned for selling virtual game items (which is not allowed for some games).

I'm in the process of getting this fixed up as its a real hassle you got to go through (have to fax in a bunch of info).

I will let you know of any updates soon.

    ~Cory

The phone was delivered after he signed for the package on 9/6. However paypal would not release my money as of today 9/11 as they need him to sign into his paypal account to close the case. And he is not responding to my PMs or emails. I see him online everyday at hofo though.

So it looks like he stole the funds somewhere to send me & he is enjoying my phone for free.

Mods, Can you please help with this situation asap? I am suspecting that he is a fraud otherwise why he would not fix the issue? and he did not respond to 20+ PMs/emails in the past few days even when I see him online. Paypal also told me that he is not responding to them.

I gave him an option to ship the phone back to me he screwed it up with paypal. However he is not responding to any of my emails/PMs

Please ping me if you need any additional information including his mailing address & all PMs that I have exchanged with him.

Finally he responds today that is the good news.

"u need to calm rite the **** down. You obviously don't know how this works. I submitted my information to paypal, and they are looking into it. I called them up and they said chances are this will get approved but will take a couple of days to process.

I understand how you feel, but you got to stop being such a douche canoe and let this run its course. I've told you all I know for quite some time now."

Here is the bad news. I called paypal right away after I gt that PM. Paypal account specialist told me that he did not contact them et all. He did not respond to paypal's emails/phone calls. A simple phone call from him to paypal will release my funds. But he is not doing it even that he said in the PM that he did. Whom do we trust here paypal or this user?

It will be under investigation for 30 days and then they will tell you you're not protected. They will work with his CC company and it will take up to 90 days to complete. Don't use your PayPal account at all.

Call PayPal on a daily basis and explain the situation. Let them know that there are others he has done this to. Speak to supervisors if you can.

Gosh I feel for you guys.

I'm too paranoid. Most (like 99.9%) everything I buy or sell over $50 has to be face to face.
