How do I get an Alltel branded BB Tour?

How do I get an Alltel branded BB Tour?
I am non-divested in Michigan (49677) but have a divested area about an hour away. (Muskegon MI, 49441)
I am eligible for upgrade on 8/28/09

Can I do an upgrade at a divested store?

If not can I buy one online (from alltel) for the online price of $419, will they ship to my zip 49677?

No, since your account is non-divested.

you have to understand that divested alltel and non-divested alltel are two completely seperate companies that happen to have the same name. it would be no different than you trying to walk into att and get your upgrade there.

whats wrong with getting it through verizon?

Is there any difference in the VZW Tour and Alltel Tour?

there's always ebay, but I'd be cautious nonetheless. didn't the tour just recently drop to alltel?

I don't know about spork, but many non-divested Alltel areas have not yet switched over to Verizon, so those folks (I am one of them) are in a Tour "no-man's land." We can't get it from Alltel and we can't get it from Verizon. So unless we find a divested store and buy it at retail we're SOL...

Been thinking along the same lines as OP with unsubstantiated concern of hobbled GPS in a VZW Tour. However, would be willing to pay retail to walk out of the store with one in unopened box.

New here so please forgive me if this has been talked about already but
I just bought the new ALLTEL TOUR but live in the VERIZON area
( I went over to the next city )

I got home called Alltel for help setting it up they were surprized to hear there was an Alltel Tour but they got me up and running, today I noticed my PRL was wrong so I tried the *228 and it didn't work so I called Alltel support and they refused to help me saying i shouldnt have that phone and it will not work after Oct 19th if not sooner.

you might try *22896 and see what that does for you. this is assuming that you're already converted into verizon. if not, then I wouldn't expect to see anything change.

as to that bit about it not working, I doubt this is the case, but I'm no expert.
