    au kddi

I got a used au kddi w53ca as a gift yesterday. I didn't get anything else with it. The previous owner didn't wipe it before giving it to my friend for me.
When I was going through the options I'm locked out of some things. I'm asked to enter a unlock code.

Anyone know a way around it? Also any place that will sell a charger for it?
I know Verizon has their version of this phone but would the charger work too?

I don't think there's any easy way to get around the unlock code. As for unlock codes, I'd try 0000 or start using digits in their phone number. Other than that, good luck.

Thanks for the advice. Tried some of the numbers left on the phone and no luck. Anyone else out there have this issue?

Try 9999, it's the default PIN for Docomos and Softbanks.

    heheh...

I stated in the first post it was a gift from a friend... I don't know the owner. A logical suggestion. But if it was that simple I wouldn't have to ask.

First off there is no need to be nasty with me.
The phone was given to my friend due him leaving his Jp base. I recieved the phone as a gift due to me always wanting a jp phone.
I have asked my friend to ask him, but there has been no response, most likely due to moving.

Secondly I'm in the u.s. the phone won't work here anyway because its cdma. Why would someone steal a phone that won't work? Its annoying to try to look around at what else is on it and it repeatedly asks for a code.

So what would I need to lie about?

I simply wanted to know if there is a way around it. Instead of waiting on someone to answer who could care less about the phone anymore.

At this point I might as well give up and just be happy I have one.

But seriously no need to say something like that, especially if someone is just asking a question.

    Thanks.
I'll try my best to guess. I guess if anyone else actually has the phone they might be able to help. Hopefully the owner will respond soon.

Thanks again simplexmu and yamanote .
