But there aren't magnets in the jack. That just has contacts that lead back to the motherboard. There are magnets in the headphones, hearpiece speaker, and the speakerphone speaker. You also have some inductors that will have a magnetic field, but all this stuff is removed from the headphone jack which is where I understood the flakes to be, in theory. Also, if there are flakes in the jack which are not removed by compressed air, then they would either be lodgged pretty well or arc welded by the shorting process. Again, they would have to be pretty big so you would be able to see them and you could use a straight pin to dislodge them. A lighted magnifying lamp would be useful for looking down the hold into the jack and seeing if anything is there which shouldn't be. Again, if the air or straight pin don't help, then you have a bigger problem deeper in the phone.

"But there aren't magnets in the jack."
But the jack does sit right between both speaker magnets... The speakerphone speaker (which I can see) has quite a bit of metal stuck to it.
No, my mom didn't buy me this phone.
No, I can't dial without looking.
My antenna is the average size.
Don't climb cell towers, they'll cook you from the inside.
I have been 800' up a broadcast tower.
