HTC Touch HD - Is it better than iphone?

    Hello Everyone,

    How you all are doing?

Well Im out here searching for a suitable phone for myself, I really can't set my mind onto one particular phone, theres so many phones out in the market but still I just can't seem to find out which one is really good for me. Let me tell u guys the names of some phone which I like, I like the Sony Ericsson XPERIA, Sone Ericsson C905, LG Prada ll & now my latest choice the HTC HD. Damn!!! im so confused, I really don't know what to do..

Anyways, im going to buy any one of them but never going to buy the iphone because iphone is become really common these days. I want to have something different but should contain more or like features of the iphone. I read reviews about the iphone which says that, iphone has a lot of important features missing, like blue tooth for file transfer, video recorder etc.

So thats why I raised this question, is the HTC touch HD better than the Apple iphone?

I'm using the Touch HD right now and I've had an Iphone 3G for a couple weeks.

The Touch HD has a beautiful 800x480 resolution at 3.8", so the screen is pretty impressive.
Speaker volume is muuuuuch better than the Iphone's but not nearly as good as a Nokia N95.
Windows Mobile is complicated at first to use, but is very very intuitive after you get used to it. I just flashed my phone with a cooked rom (what other phone OS will let you do that?) and the phone runs amazing. I'm actually using the firmware from the Touch Diamond 2 and it works really well
Also using Garmin GPS on it and that also is working great.
The 5mp camera on it is pretty decent, but you have to be pretty still and have good lighting for it to take a good shot

    Dear Snooppp,

Thank u so much for your reply, I really appreciate it. Well, I really like the HD too, its a wonderful phone, the first time I saw it, i just couldn't take my eyes off it. About the 5MP camera, I read some reviews and they all say good things about it, I believe day time pictures are amazing in it, right?

Can u help me by telling me, what can be the best price for this phone? How much did u buy your one for?

Thanks And hope to hear from u soon.
    Have a great day.

HTC HD - is way better

Hello guys, thanks for posting your thoughts in this page, well I just read couple of reviews on the internet about both the phones, iphone & the HD. I noticed that there are a lot of iphone fans in this world but at the sametime I saw that many people also hate iphone and thats because iphone has some very simple features missing. iphone users are really frustrated and why they shouldn't be? Its really disappointing when u buy a phone for over $600 and can't enjoy features which can be found on every other phone.

A phone worth $600.00 doesn't have blue tooth for file transfer, no video recorder, no flash. Can u guys believe this? Although iphone has the best music quality along with its brilliant user interface but thats actually not enough to console yourself for the money you've spent.

Now about the HTC HD, well the HTC HD, is way better than iphone & everyone is actually saying that because HD has all the features that every modern phone has or should have. People love the HD because of the big screen it has & also because of its office applications. The HD also has a brilliant resolution, the camera quality of it is also good.

I definitely prefer the HD more than iphone, what u guys prefer???

Had my touch HD 3 days now and it is awesome. The best wm experience I've ever had. It's not perfect, but what phone is. It's thin, I like thin. I can carry it easily in a shirt pocket. The screen is fantastic. But, that said, it craps out in outside light. I've tried several roms on it already and settled on a cooked 6.1 as I wasn't that wild about 6.5 after trying some of them. As someone mentioned above "try doing that on an iphone". I get really good battery life and am actually amazed with it, because I'm using the crap out of this since it's still so new. I attribute that to the rom probably. I tried an iphone once and got bored with it in a few minutes. To each their own.

Wait for the newer phone or get this now

Would you say this is really the best phone out there at the moment ?
I just broke my old HTC Hermes and need to upgrade, but I want to make it my last purchase for a whille.

I havn't heard too much about the faults except for a few things in this review (which is very positive) where it says that it can generate a bit of heat. Would you say that is pretty accurate?
Anyway, because I want to make it my last purchase for a while I considered waiting for the Touch Pro2 ,I like the keyboard, but it's not out for ages

Any major gripes with everyday use ?

    Just couple of gripes:
    1. My HD will occassionally drop a call even though I have 2-3 bars. I have read on threads at xda-developers that this is a known issue. Apparently sending it back to HTC for a new motherboard?? fixes the issue?? I have not done this as it is not frequent
    2. There is an audio skip in music and videos. Every couple of minutes there is a small hiccup. I have not found a solid fix for this.

Other than this, it is great! However, I would wait a month before purchasing as there are a ton of devices about to be released that may give the HD some competition! Goodluck.

    it will worth it.
neutrally it will give some heating up when the phone is connected to wifi, but this is due to the radio it is using. and of cos xda had a few radio version for you, you can flash and try.

as for rom, try dutty's 6.1 ultimate roms. it is good!

radio drop call doesnt happen for me. try checking the radio version of the phone.

just off the device and on again, at the bottom right you will see, R:1.XX.XX
thats the radio ver for your info.
maybe you can even visit xda-developers.

I'm glad I found this thread, because I was thinking of upgrading to the iPhone, but then my brother has just got an HTC. I saw it today and liked it. Still not decided 100% so will keep researching.

Personally, I love the Diamond 2, it has a good look and perfect functions.

But u should think over that the practical value of WINDOWS MOBILE 6.1

    complex!!!
