    Nokia E63 versus E71

If anyone has compared these two phones I would appreciate it if you could give your general opinion. Specifically one of the features I also want is to use the phone as a universal remote for my stereo system (just to be sure can this be done, if so with what app?). Also does the E63 have a infrared port? I was googling a bit and some sites list it as having a infrared port and others do not so its a bit confusing.

No infared port on E63. No GPS and 3G speed is 10x slower than E71. Camera is 2mp on E63 compared to 3.2 on E71. E63 is plastic, E71 is metal. E63 cost $280, E71 is $325. I would save up $45 more and get the E71, the E63 is missing too much to only save $45. You cant even get dinner and a movie for two for $45 these days, so $45 is not much when you consider you may have the phone several months maybe a year.

Wow, no GPS and a worse camera on the E63??! Why on earth would anyone opt for it over the E71, especially since the pricing structure is so close?

The E63 does have a 3.5mm headset jack, the E71=2.5mm.
I find the E63 keyboard better than the E71. The keys are rubberized as opposed to plastic and slightly bigger. Also, I do like the way it feels in your hand while using it; the extra thickness on the E63 is great. The usb and mem card slot covers are integrated much better in the case on the E63.

We all know what the E71 brings to the table; which is quite a bit.

Though I do agree 100% on the price difference; it way too close.

Theres my opinion, hope it helps.

Also the E63 package does not contain the CA-101 data cable which I find odd considering it's a "business-centric" phone. There are also limited applications which comes free compared to the E71's.

Luckily, I got the E66 and the E71 so no need to buy the extra CA-101 DATA cable.

I personally like the feel of the E63 and the keyboard better than my E71.

Ha so no data cable either? Add another $20 for that and ur at almost the same price. Ya I know I have the cable from my e71, but if I end up buying a new phone I have to sell my old one, and I have to include all the accessories it came with. Just seems like a pretty stupid idea for a phone. Now if it was $200 it would be amazing.

Once its at the $200 mark its going to be easier to justify. Most people will be willing to pay $30-40 more for gps, metal body, HSDPA, etc. Once your at $100 more then some people can't justify the extra expense; especially in this economy

just curious, in terms of size, would one be able to put the e63 KB on the e71? Are the keyboard layout and sizes the same? My e71 is in the mail, so i havent used one yet.
