Probably the last great CDMA Palm to be on Bell.

I've been drooling over this phone since first hearing about it and the fact
that it was CDMA. I wanted to wait for it as my Nokia died and I was due for an upgrade.

in the end I opted for the end LG Voyager. Excellent feature-rich phone, but it is just a phone.

I'm glad Palm decided on a real keyboard. Once you've had a proper keypad, you couldn't go back. I would never attempt to write this much on a cellphone keypad.

I will still get one. I will just wait a year for an upgrade credit and allow a few firmware updates to work the bugs out.

    I can hardly wait!

Don't get your hopes up, it may come to bell, but not with all the features that were promised...

First they have to get through Apple and the 200+ iPhone patents...

the suit will either be a payoff or will be countered by the palm patents apple is infringing on

Palm has much bigger problems than the suit...

I can't see this single device pulling them out from being near-death... nice try though...

I wonder if Todd Rundgren ("Hello it's me... I've been waiting for a long long time... ") will be a part of this, he too has a hand in developing touch screen technology - except he did it with Apple... long before anything by Palm ever existed...
    Cheeri'o...
    Frankie...

Please Note: I do not work for Bell. I also do not work for any wireless retail outlet.
Do not ask me about promotions or offers from wireless providers.

its not like this is going to be the only phone they release like the iphone...

this is just their first new phone with WebOS

this one phone definitely cant save them...

...but it makes them relevant again

Pre isn't coming to Canada until closer to year end from what I hear. It'd suck so hard if that means end of Q3-Q4...

I need this damn phone as well. iPhone sucks for email, Curve 8900 sucks for browsing, Pre looks amazing with everything. Bell had better get it fast or the GSM version will be out soon and I'll have to switch to Rogers!

It was quite funny the other day as rententions called me the other day (contract expiring in 2 weeks) to get me to get a new phone - the guy tried to pathetically convince me that all of their smartphones are *not* crap, contrary to what I've heard. Pff.

To get a good look at this phone, do a search of "Palm Pre UI demo" on YouTube.

Regarding patents, Apple is not the first mobile device with touch screen technology. I don't foresee a problem there. Palm knows a thing or two about touch screens.

The squeeze browser zoom is certainly similar, though. We'll see.

Sprint is the first carrier to receive it. As Sprint is CDMA, and BM has historically tended to launch simultaneously or shortly afterwards with Sprint, there's a good chance it'll be coming soon.

That said, the Pre is still in development and we don't know when it will launch, period.
