3040 Sim Cards and iPhone 3G

    Hey Guys,
Will the Rogers 3040 sim cards work completely with the iPhone 3g or is the 4000 required for full functionality?

You have to have something way older, like a 3000 SIM to have to replace it with a new one.

I had a 3040 sim and it worked fine except for that every time connection dropped and came back again I would get a voicemail indicator. Same thing with turning airplane mode on then off again. The 4000 sim card fixed that for me.

They'll work, but probably not well. They're old. There are known bugs and compatibility issues with them, particularly for those features you mentioned, VVM, data, email, etc. Strongly reccommend getting a 4000 for every iphone.

case in point, I was just helping a gentleman get his email to work, before reaching me he spent about 4 hours between Rogers and his email provider troubleshooting. I noticed his 3040 sim, suggested activating the new 4000, and bam, email works like a charm, no new settings required.

it will work, but importing your sim contacts will not work. It will copy a few only
