Need a Nice, *Free*, MP3/Ringtone Editor

I have a data cable for my Nokia 6126 and Nokia's PC Suite and a 1 gb microSD card. I've found a few full-length songs that I want to use as ringtones so now I just need a good editor, preferably free. I found this DJ Nitrogen Ringtone Lab at Download.com and they say it's just $1.50 to buy. I also read here about FlexiMusic but $20 is a bit steep.

Is anyone using DJ Nitrogen? Any other freeware suggestions? Thanks!

Oops, guess this should go in the Nokia ringtone/wallpaper forum (dang newbies! ). Sorry. Edit: I see that there is no Nokia ringtone thread. Is there a general ringtone thread (I haven't been on Howard for a long time)?

Thank you. I had glanced at that thread but thought that Audacity was not freeware.

Nope, it's Freeware. If it wasn't, I probably wouldn't be using it.

Did you know that there is an Audacity Wiki (for making ringtones)? This has been a great time saver for me!

It's pretty fun and not as complicated as it looks. I've made a tone of "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" (a classic) by They Might Be Giants. Also, "Don't Sweat the Technique" by Eric B. & Rakim. They sound pretty good on the 6126 and I was able to leave them in stereo.

One of my faves is "Hip Hop Chicken" by aim007 over at Zedge. I'll post some of my Audacity "creations" at Zedge in a bit.
