    A good camera phone

    Hi everyone,

A friend led me to this site saying most of the users know their stuff about cell phones. So my situation is that I need a cell phone with a GOOD CAMERA (since i don't own a camera i'd rather kill two birds with one stone).

    The features I need are:
    • DECENT CAMERA W/ FLASH (one that is close to a normal point and shoot camera)
    • QUAD BAND
    • GOOD CALL QUALITY
    • WIFI (more of a want than a need)
    • MAX PRICE $400

I need to decide by August as I need this new phone for university.

Please and thank you very much

Sony Ericsson K790a/K800i/K810i all have a decent camera, and are well within your price range, except that none of them are quad band. K790a has the 850 band, so if you need that, it would be a great phone. No Wifi, but phones with good cameras and wifi are few and far between I think.

I second the suggestion about the Nokia N95... although it might be slightly out of your price range. However, you might be able to find one in your price range. It has a 5 MP camera with flash, WiFi, is quad-band GSM, and has good sound quality. It also has a built-in GPS, built-in FM radio, MP3 player, etc.

To those who suggested N95. Did you see his/her max price to spend?

i sold my excellent condition n95-3 for 350 bucks here on hofo. hell, a brand new n95 is practically at the 400 dollar mark now, so its not unrealistic to get an n95. or n82 since it has a true xenon flash like real digital cameras. quality is phenomenal for night time pics. only reason i say go with the nokia s60 phones over the SE phones is because A) they have real GPS chips also, and B) they are multi tasking smartphones that have endless possibilities. the SE phones are mostly regular phones that can only use java apps.

I think Sony Ericsson has better cameras but it's a little expensive. You can have a try of either Sony Ericsson K790c or K850i.

I believe the Sony Ericsson C902 is a decent buy...doesn't use the Xenon flash though but the LED flash is pretty powerful. Should be able to get this phone on a decent contract but dunno how much it is in $.

I second the K790a suggestion, it's well under your price range (I found mine BNIB for $220 on ebay) and, while it's only 3.2MP, it takes beautiful pictures. It has a Xenon flash, gets nice battery life, and call quality/reception was great. The actual ringer/speaker was somewhat weak, but it was a non-issue with me.

I would like to see what you decide on given the different phones suggested.
