After reading in this thread about SMS not working, I can confirm mine doesn't work for outgoing. I almost never send SMS so it took a couple days to realize that - but incoming works fine.
Just tested my 8830 SMS works great on 4.5.0.33Originally Posted by fred_savage

I couldn't click the download link for facebook, I coulnt send any sms, also I couldn't highlight multiple email/sms to delete them. I had to delete each msg one by oneOriginally Posted by fred_savage
It seems the 8830 will txt fine, the 8330 on the other hand its rare to find someone that can get that to work.
well that could explain why os4.5 is not released yet lolOriginally Posted by perfectlyfailing

Oddly enough, this isn't just because of 4.5 - and it happens sometimes even if you use Opera. Workaround is very easy - I posted it earlier in this thread.Originally Posted by nezr
I can see how SMS is a dealbreaker, though.
Given all the problems I'm seeing that ppl had with 4.5, I think I'll wait until the official release and upgrade when Telus updates their system to 2.5. After all, my BB is working perfectly right now and I wouldn't want to mess with that.
The only feature I'm really interested in is HTML email so it would be better for me to wait until Telus upgrades their system anyway.

It doesn't load by default. You need to select it.Originally Posted by E-POTS

Yep. No problems with SMS on my Bell 8830 and 4.5.Originally Posted by perfectlyfailing
4.5 was really buggy, long load times, periodic timeouts. though my sms worked fine.
now on 4.6 (yes. four point six) and it's blazingly quick - youtube streaming doesn't work still though, new browser looks good though.
This has probably been answered somewhere but...
I'm waiting on getting a curve. I was waiting for 2 things before jumping onboard.
1 - 4.5 as from what I read it fixes a few things and having the ability to edit documents would be handy. Also MSN messenger would be handy.
2 - July 11 to see if Telus drops price of the device or data plans to compete with the Iphone.
Does anyone believe it's worth it to wait?, does anyone think Telus will adjust anything to counter the IPhone?. Also, does anyone really know when 4.5 comes out. Above 4.6 is now mentioned. I would prefer to not to have to upgrade the device after, as I would not be comfortable with that with a new Blackberry.
Just wondering.. waiting is kinda driving me nuts.
Stereo BT is already enabled on the 8830 - I'm using Motorola S9's paired to the 8830 and get full stereo and controls.Originally Posted by flipflash77
