No, the iPhone does not support MobiTV. You will need the VU for that, sir. Like Jay said, you can use Orb, or wait for Slingplayer!

Using Orb requires an unlocked iPhone, correct?

the 3G iPhone must be jailbroked to use the Orb from Installer. However, you can still go to orb.com from a "virgin" iPhone and access your files. Orb even opens iTunes on your PC.

So, while we wait for the Dev's to jailbreak the new iPhone, youcan download Orb on your computer, then go to orb.com on either iPhone.

OK, I see now. So it's kind of like Avvenu. Thanks!

Not AT&T's at least. It'd need an antenna for that, and Apple wants to sell you media, not let you stream it.

I think I'm going to get slingbox as well. Will the standard one work?

Once Sling releases the iPhone software, any SlingBox will work with it.

No mobile tv. Also no MMS, no voice-dial, no A2DP Bluetooth, no copy/paste, no video capture, no video conferencing, no landscape keyboard for texting, and no updated camera. Oh, but it's an Apple product, so it must be great.

Orb works great and it's free. I would like to see how much better slingbox performs when it's released, but Orb is good enough that I would pay for this service.

No, their Mobile TV service requires the ability to use a realtime streaming video protocol. Neither does it have a MediaFLO receiver, which is what the Vu uses.

We're all looking forward to Slingbox support (I love it on my WM phones, even though it's like $30 for each one.)

The downside is, usually carriers have rules prohibiting using Slingbox. (Rumor says Verizon's latest PDA plan actually allows it, but I haven't read it myself.)

Aside from copy/paste, I don't give a crap about any of that stuff. I've had most of it on other phones, and never used it. And I used to hate everything Apple, up until the iPhone 3G was announced...
