Sounds like what happened a few weekends ago!

    Except it lasted longer.

Does this mean we will get the new OS pushed to our devices?

I also heard long ago that the BIS users would be getting some new features, like being able to create different folders to put your mail in.

    How hard would that be?

    Wirelessly posted (Blackjack: BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I hate windows based smartphones, but at least they don't rely on a third party for e-mail. Rim is getting sucky with all the outages.

Last year I finally gave in an bought a BlackBerry. I was convinced that the promise of reliability, simplicity, reliability, security, reliability, design, and reliability would make me love the phone. Especially after all the Treos and other devices. For a few months I really was impressed. I loved my 8800! There was only one outage during that time.

I then bought an 8320. Good...but no GPS. Plus, the phone kept resetting in the middle of calls. Email failed every once in a while. Outages occurred but weren't announced...yeah, I guess the smaller ones get ignored. There are plenty of them though! I was getting annoyed with the phone AND with the service reliability.

Traded that 8320 for an 8310, unlocked for use on T-Mobile. No more resetting during calls!! Yes, a few more outages, but the phone itself was reliable enough. Still, the limited memory made browsing, even with Opera Mini, a little tedious. I just couldn't get over the outages with the super secure and ultra reliable BlackBerry service.

So, I traded for an HTC Tilt. No more outages. Not a single one. More memory for everything...browsing with Opera Mini is now fun, it has never reset in the middle of a call or any other time, and the battery life is just impressive.

Did I mention that there are no email outages?

I will take outages over clunky unreliable buggy windows mobile. I have had both.

I agree it is GOOD they are telling us. If this upgrade will make the network more dependable, Saturday is ok for me!

There is no better so I can not complain!

Kinda worries me, too. BUT so many have started using Blackberry, millions of new users in such a short time, I worry they have exceeded their capacity to provide "AS" dependable of a service!

Thats not really a good thing. I mean, there are soo many corporations dependent on RIM's fine services, and these outages are only angering them. I'm not an addict and I get annoyed too when my mails have delay/dont come thru for hours, I cant imagine what other's might feel.

Does it possibly mean that we will be much closer to 4.5?

I am glad that this won't do much to me ... I will hopefully be asleep during those hours.

In any event, it's nice to have warning. Sucks for the people who will be effected.
