    HTC TyTN to TyTN II?

    I love my TyTN!

But I've had it for a while now and I think I would like to upgrade to the TyTN II.

I need to sync with outlook (work stuff)
    g-mail
    light/moderate web browsing
I really like the GPS idea (because I keep getting lost!)
I don't want anything much larger than the TyTN or heavier.

Is the TyTN II a big enough upgrade for the money? or should I be waiting for some great release in 2008 (maybe with a front dial pad?)

Also, do any of you use a second (smaller) phone to just go out with if you don't need all the features of a PPC?

    Thanks

Hey I don't own a TyTN II, but I have a TyTN and absolutely love it! I too thought about upgrading, the main benifit being the upgraded RAM, however with the new ROM update that is just about to be released from HTC (already a leaked version which im sure you know about since you mentioned GPS) to unlock the TyTN's GPS as well as REV. A for faster data downloads, I decided to wait until I see the benefits

its up to you, but I would wait to see the TyTN's full potential before upgrading

Thanks for the info and yeah, I had heard about the ROM update.

Unfortunately I had a bit of an accident with my tyTN or should I say, my friend tried to make a phonecall and dropped it from ear-height with the screen slid out. I've been having problems ever since so I got me a TyTN II as a replacement.
I've had the TyTN for longer than any other device (I usually change every 6 months or so and the TyTN lasted for almost 2 years.

I don't use any of those functions while I drive. Not terrible safe in my opinion but I do use MS Voice Command for the functions I do need while I drive.

apparently there are text to speach programs you can get..i think they come on the htc touch, not sure tho... i have my most common contacts programmed on voice dial, i just wish it was as good as the blackberry voice recognition software on the perl, that thing is amazing.
