    2000 - CellularOne (then became Cingular) - Nokia 5165 > Ericsson T18d > Nokia 7160 > Nokia 8260.
2001 - Centennial - Some small Samsung flip phone, can't remember the model number.
    2002 - Cingular - Nokia 6340i.
    2002 - T-Mobile - Motorola T193i > SonyEricsson T300 > Motorola T720.
    2004 - Cingular - SE T316 > SE T616 > Motorola T720g > Moto V400 > Moto V551 > Moto MPx220 > Audiovox SMT5600 > Cingular 2125 > Cingular 8125 > HP iPAQ 6515 > Palm Treo 750.
    2007 - SunCom - Moto RIZR Z3 - SE W300i.

I intentionally left out prepaid phones and network trials that were returned, so as to keep the list short.

Oh, boy, this is going to be difficult.

    Sprint 2001 to 2004. TP 1100, Sanyo 4900, Sanyo RL 2000 (warranty replacement for the 4900), VM 4500/Samsung a620.

Cingular/at&t 2004 to present. Moto v551. SE T616. RAZR V3. Moto v180. Samsung x497. Samsung c207. SE w600i. Blackberry 7130c. Nokia 6030. Black RAZR V3. Red PEBL. Moto SLVR L6. LG CU500. Samsung D807. RIZR Z3. Samsung SYNC. Nokia N73. Dash. Samsung a717. Blackberry Pearl (red). Blackberry Curve. BlackJack. SE w580. BlackJack II.

T Mobile pre paid March 2006 to present. Sharp TM105. Samsung T509. Inked RAZR.

Sprint for two weeks summer 2007. HTC PPC 6800/Mogul.

I know that's not all of the GSM phones I've had but it's close. I think I've averaged 18 GSM phones a year the past two years I just can't remember them all. You get the idea. That's also not counting the phones I've had on my other two lines on at&t.

Verizon from 05/2004 until earlier this month when I switched to AT&T.

I had the lg 6000, 6100, motorola v710, e815, v3m, maxx ve. Recently tried the blackberry 8830 and returned it before switching to AT&T. I tried a Sprint treo 700wx in there too...I'm not the biggest sprint fan though. Now I have the unlocked motorola v8.

That's from the top of my head. They're not in order as I tend to buy them in multiples and for nostalgic reasons. But I think that should it.

February '96 to January '98: Motorola brick phone that started out on US West, which became Airtouch and eventually Verizon.

    January '98 to November '04: AT&T Wireless TDMA. Phones included Nokia 2160, 5160, 5165, 6162, 6160, 3360, 6360 and 3560.

November '04 to present: GSM on Cingular, but SIM was and still is an old AT&T Wireless (i.e. Cingular Blue). Phones have included: Nokia 6010 and 6061. I have experimented with a few other GSM phones, but have always come back to the 6010 and 6061.

I also have several prepaid phones on T-Mobile, PagePlus and STi Mobile. Each one has a specific purpose. Some are just glove box phones, for when I forget my main phone. I use the STi Mobile for reading my email. I do not have a landline phone at home, so I have two prepaid phones strategically placed, so I can call my wife at home, when she forgets to turn on her cell phone.

My list'll be pathetic compared to some of you guys.

~1995 - Moto GSM "flip" (forgot model) with Powertel
I dunno the rest of the dates, but... at some point P'tel became VoiceStream who became T-Mobile...

    SE T68i unlocked

    SE T610 from T-Mobile

    Nokia 6320 unlocked

    SE s710i unlocked

    SE w810i unlocked

After I got the 810 I moved to bum-f, Mississippi where T-Mo's poor coverage flushed a nearly 12 year relationship with the same phone number down the tubes... Hello crappy AMR-HR with Cingular, nee AT&T.

    Not much, eh?

Does anyone eilse have my habit of constantly buying phones maybe from ebay. New, used, just to try'em. The bargains available on year old handsets are amazing. some we keep for spares in case of loss, etc, rather than paying insurance or full price for new stuff, or extending contracts.

Guilty as charged..My iPhone and its subsequent locking out of the proxy has slowed my acquisition of new ones on AT&T. But, now that my GF's work gave her a Nextel, there is a whole new network to try out. I've had 2 of them already and am looking for one with Moto Talk just to play around with it.

I actually resisted getting a cell phone for a long, long time so the numerous phones I've had are all of a (relatively) recent vintage. I do have two mobile phone memories, though.

The first was a car phone that a friend's dad had back in the early 70s. The dad worked for some Texas oil company and I remember him making a call to tell his wife we all were on the way home from some trip to Plano, Texas, which was waaaay out in the country back then for those of you who are familiar with this suburb of Dallas today. I think he had to connect to an operator first to make the call (just like on the Andy Griffith show). I remember thinking the phone was "neat" (I was just a kid, after all), but I never for a moment thought I'd have some type of mobile phone myself someday.

The second memory is when I was sitting in some continuing education seminar and some guy at the back of the room had one of those giant Motorola phones (a DynaTac??). It wasn't a bag phone, but it was as big as a brick. I thought it was interesting, but I wasn't envious. I didn't see myself carrying one of those either.

I can remember watching Maxwell Smart use a mobile phone that was built into his shoe back in the 60's. Back then, I never imagined that I would one day have a mobile phone. I am glad that I don't have to remove my shoe to use it.

Pre-2000 I wasn't old enough to have a phone, but my parents used I think the old AT&T Wireless, then switched to Cingular, then to Verizon, and now back to AT&T.

    Cingular:
(2000-2002) REALLY old Motorola I think. Candy-bar style.

    Verizon Wireless:
    (2002-2004) Old LG flip
(2004-2006) Samsung flip phone. Very basic.
    (2006-2007) LG VX9800
    (2007-2008) Motorola Q9m

Next phone: Apple iPhone 2 when it's released. =)
