So what is Nokia planning for the US version of N95?

They said that they will bring out a phone with similiar technology to N95. You think they will change the design? You think they should keep the slider design?

It's coming out tomorrow. Read the availability thread...and the thread stickied about N95 threads.

Nobody has heard any plans of anything like that, and the n95s sold tomorrow will be the same as UK n95s in terms of the 2100 3G band.

*laughs* Nokia isn't making a "US version" of the N95. There is no "N95-2" with US 3g. People love rumors don't they!

You'll get the same N95 that I already have... you'll save about $50 though for waiting a week. Big whoop. (senses thread closing)

Speculation is that a WCDMA 850/1900 version will probably be available end of the year.

I doubt it, but I would pay all over again for a US 3G version.

There's no speculation. Nothing from nokia, the FCC, any carriers, nothing except a forum post.

and the report that i got from a knowledgable source that there's an N95 on the roadmap for a certain US carrier.......

and that's not hearsay, this person saw it in print.

though keep in mind, the 6282 and N80 were also on a carrier's roadmap before...

Why would you say something like that and not say the carrier?

BS -- this would compete with the iPhone. Cingular will never bring out a $750 phone though. They want to sell their Windows POS phones for $50.

all we can hope for is the success of the n95 in the US without US 3g will make Nokia realize they should start making phones for us too. If that is the case then rumors will probably start to fly around next sept like they did for the n95, most likely it would be nokias next flagship, only it would include triband hsdpa and we would all be happy. if that happens it all im sure it wont be for at least a year

The best part about S60 phones is the browser is so much better than PIE that EDGE is good enough for surfing the web. Plus, for multi-media streaming there's plenty of wifi. Sadly, it will probably mean another bill to add. Not to mention the addition of "navigation" feature. The ownership cost of this phone just keeps increasing.

Back to the point, all these features (wifi, EDGE, 5MP cam, large screen) combined with the lack of good 3G content in the US means the N95 will still be a smash hit in the US. Not to mention, for business travelers (like myself) we will get to experience N95 3.5G every so often in Europe and APAC.

You know if Cingular gets the phone they will take out the WIFI like on the E61......so better stick to an unlocked version IMO.
