The i730 was absolutely in the Samsung booth at CTIA, looking better than ever. Look for it in the CTIA report on Phone Scoop at some point on Monday... ;)

  3. Re: Re: Re: Re: What will be the next Network Upgrade for Verizon Wireless?

No. Verizon's Phase II is EV-DO release A. That's the only CDMA EV technology that will be ready to start deployment this year, and that's how soon Verizon plans to start.
  4. Re: Re: What will be the next Network Upgrade for Verizon Wireless?

You'd think so, but in fact BroadbandAccess "Phase II", as they call it, is already in the works.

    ROTFL!

EV-DO release A is next. EV-DV has zero momentum right now - it may never see serious light of day at this point. And WCDMA? Not a chance - that would mostly be a step backwards after...

Oooooh - NOW I get it! :) I knew I was missing something in all of this. ;)

So what you're saying is that 64K SIMs combined with ENS allow a Cingular (Orange) phone and SIM to treat the AT&T...

    It's a little of both.

My threshold for when I have "enough" info to post a phone has shifted a bit over the past year. There are a number of reasons for this.

And also the FCC procedures did...

Re: Re: Re: no more GAIT?

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. There are different core networks involved.

GSM and WCDMA use the MAP type of core network. AMPS, TDMA, and CDMA all use the ANSI-41 type of core network. The...

    But it is the same.

What's confusing is that some moron a few years ago came up with the term "GSM 850". "GSM 800" would have been consistent with established terms like "CDMA 800" and "TDMA 800",...

That's not what I was talking about. I meant the $25 plan, where they simply charge $1 per megabyte for tethered connections.

Actually, they DO allow it, they just charge you for it at a reasonable rate. That actually seems much more enlightened than Sprint's approach. I like it.
