Same. The FP app is complete garbage.
I just use GV/Hangouts and it works fine.
I get 50-60ms ping on Sprint LTE with FP. Google Voice works perfectly fine at 1 Mbps. I've used it when the speed was as low as 300 kbps.
Latency is what matters most with VoIP.
I downloaded the app and it is buggy (crashes) and has ads. So I uninstalled it.
I don't use their number and there is no requirement to have their app installed.
I don't care if they "clamp...
Just curious what your issues with FP are. I've been using it since RingPlus died and it's worked perfectly fine.
1GB of free data a month (900MB usable). Can't beat that. I use Google Voice and...
Apparently they are in good financial shape, unlike RP. They make a lot of $ off people who don't pay attention and go over their data limit, plus forget to cancel free trials when signing up....
I have roughly 10GB of free data a month with various Freedompop sims. Now that's a deal.
byodpromo8 is the new one for 99c.
More Time!
Members, your numbers & service are now safe 'til 3pm PDT, Tues, Feb. 21, 2017.
Actual migration date to Ting coming soon!
Dear RingPlus Members,
RingPlus was able to extended...
Looks like ports are finally going through to GV too. I'm going to take the chance and just do it now before I get sucked up by Ting.
If you are using Hangouts with GV you have unlimited minutes and it uses about 0.6MB of data per minute.
1000 minutes will use 600MB of data, so try to talk on wifi when possible.
I was going to port my number to Google Voice but now I think it makes more sense to just let it go to Ting and then port out from there. I don't have any confidence that my port will go through to...
I've never sent a non picture mms, but to each their own.
Good question. I sure hope so.
You still can't make GV the default messaging app in Android unlike Hangouts. It's not even an option.

There are 2 settings on my Nexus 6. Data warning and data limit. The 1st one will warn you, the 2nd will turn it off.
Ting is not a good deal. Porting out now to google voice and getting Freedompop. RIP Ringplus.
If you have an android phone you can set a hard limit on data usage. No reason to pay them anything.
Usually, but apparently they are having a deal right now with free activation. Saw it at slickdeals. Since my Nexus 6 works on both Sprint and AT&T I'm probably going to get a sim for both networks....
I don't see the point in paying $5 to disable auto top up when my android phone has both a warning and hard limit I can set. Especially if you have multiple sims on difference accounts, this can get...
You can't port from RP+ to FP.
I'm thinking about getting 5 FreedomPop LTE gsm $2 sims under different emails. This would give me 1.2GB data on the 1st sim, and potentially 700MB on the other 4 with freedom friends. From what I...
I have an unlocked Nexus 6. Since it has both radios, I can get separate FreedomPop accounts for both cdma and gsm, and swap sims without issue?
I'm currently on R+ and have to switch out soon. In doing some research I found someone on Slickdeals claiming that FreedomPop spammed his contacts with a message saying something like...
"Hey...
I'm moving to Freedompop. I have a Nexus 6 that works on both Sprint and AT&T, so I'm just trying to decide which network to go with at this point. GSM LTE sim is $2 and CDMA is currently free for...
