Anyone get PB transfer on a Prius with flashed V710?
I thought VZW's 1.40.0R flash would fix the phonebook transfer issue with BT cars since they say:
". Add PAP extensions for phone book entry transfers to Bluetooth Carkits - This feature was added due to high demand
from V710 users as well as greater compatibility with more advanced car kits."
But my 1.40.0R flashed V710 drops out of BT mode whenever I set my Prius to listen for a Phone Book transfer. And there doesn't appear to be a command on the phone to "send" the phone book, which is what the car's screen is asking.
Does anyone know if Super Dave's flash addresses this? In fact has ANYONE been able to transfer a phone book on ANY car?

Nobody has posted that the new flash works with either Prius or Acura TL.
It seems that BMW, Lexus and others only need the OPP (Object Push Profile), while Prius and Acura TL appear to need the OBEX Bluetooth profile.
This would hold true to both the SD and OR versions of the flash. They both have the OPP are are missing OBEX.

I'm not saying that for sure it works, (i dont have my data cable yet so i can't flash my phone and try it out), but when i xfer'ed some contacts from my laptop w/ d-link bt adapter, i noticed that when the connection was 'setup' on the laptop using the bt wizard, it poped up a thing talking about the OPP- object push profile, not OBEX. So maybe there is a way to get the prius to work with OPP. Here's what I did....
tell prius to "add a phone", then run bt wizard on the laptop, telling it you know what service you want. choose the PIM sync service, click next. when it's done searching change the pulldown to "all devices" and you should see the prius entry.
click next and the laptop should add an entry for PIM sync (this is where it mentions the OPP)
Now, click cancel on the prius screen, letting the v710 regain connection. then select "transfer phonebook" on the prius.
v710 will disconnect from prius, which is when you will select your contacts in outlook or outlook express, and choose file->send to bluetooth->[name of prius bt]
if you're in Outlook Express it may ask you to authenticate.
Voila! it works! so I'm interested to know if this procedure would work with a flashed 710 supporting OPP.
someone that has flashed their v710, what happens if you search for devices after already adding the prius? are there new menues or options under the bt section of the phone?

actually, the new flashes have OBEX. Just sniff the transmissions, it has OBEX all over it, like some else posted here. Except that maybe MPT has a way of summoning the port or the phone (hence why you can't use the BT menu's for OBEX on it). Through seem editing you can enable the phone book send command, haven't trid it myself and I think it probably won't work.
VZW's 1.40.0R DOESN'T fix the pb xfer problem, I found out after a long, frustrating wknd. Would sure be nice if the Verizon people who did this upgrade for me knew this, but then they don't write the code either. Heretofore this website was unknown to me until I took my v710 (fresh from the upgrade and still no pb xfer in the Verizon pkng lot) back into the store to determine if they did the flash properly. In the store, while standing in the frustratingly long line again, another linestander suggested I get on this forum. Much better advice than anything Verizon told me. After getting just plain mad when sent to 10 different outsourcers in Costa Rica on the phone w/Verizon, I finally got thru to Moto's data team. He knew the full story and could've spoken the words before I did, assuring me that moto will be releasing the latest version in 2-3 wks, but not to quote him on the date, since it could be later (or even earlier). And he assured me that this absolutely, positively fixes the "unfix" of pb xfers. I'll believe it when I see my v710 stay bluetooth-connected when I hit "start transfer" on the car's touchscreen and the entries go into the car's phonebook. Othwerwise, I'll personally contribute to the REWARD fund to the first one who can HACK this code to make it work. Somebody could use $5K, couldn't they?
I have a flashed 710, and I can't get the PB to transfer (I have an '04 Lexus LS 430). However, the phone does ring now when I get an incoming call. I'd love to know if anyone figures out a workaround to get the PB to transfer to Lexus vehicles.
